Glass, not Windex please!

Well, I just got tint yesterday, so I will continue using Stoner's IG + Cobra WW's that I've been using all this time (after Saturday or Sunday , of course)

I was a Stoners fan until I tried Meguiar's Glass Cleaner. It is even better IMO. Absolutely no streaking in my cars. Works great around the home as well.

If you haven't tried it yet just take Jfelbab's and my advice; YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF! Quit spending $4 on a can of stoners, and polluting the environment with cfc's and try this stuff out at only $1.29/GAL! thats like $.01 / oz. Works awesome, smells GREAT (like grapes) Reminds me of that geico commercial;

"I'm so rich, I think I'll spray Meguiars Detailer Line Glass Cleaner (just to smell it.)"

I think Elliot Ness hit it on the head - towels help make all the difference.

I can use 2 high quality, non linting MF's, 1 with water and 1 to dry and get perfect streak free results.

I use Windex all over my house and it is great. In the car, I love Turtle Wax Glass Cleaner and use it exclusively with a good MF.

I personally like Stoners IG, but I think the towel you use is as much (if not more) of a factor as the cleaner. Yesterday I did a quick clean on my windshield using Griots cleaner and his "special" polypropylene (looks like paper to me) glass towels. I got these as a Christmas gift a couple of years back and they were close by so I grabbed them. Today I noticed my windshied was streak city. While Griots glass cleaner isn't my favorite, and I seldom use it anymore, I think it was the towels that caused the problems. Now I remember why I had them shoved to back of my shelf.

Use a good quality low lint MF, or a MF made for glass, and almost anything you use (including plain water) will provide a streak free finish unless they are really bad. Go over them once or twice with the cleaner, and then follow-up with a dry MF and you'll be all set. Keeping the MF's you use for glass dedicated for that purpose (and washed by themselves) will also help.

I've never used Autoglym glass polish so I can't help you out there.

Totally 100% agree. It's more the towel than anything. Once I started seperating my micro fibers (no more acronyms!), and double rinsing, glass was easy!

Nothing beats 1Z Scheibenklar...I must have tried 2 dozen glass cleaners.

You must use a waffle weave glass towel for best results. The towel is as importamt as the cleaner in my experience.

+1 on the Meguiar's Detailer Line Glass Cleaner. It's going to take forever to use up this gallon. I've been diluting it at the recommended strength on the bottle and although just by looking at it or smelling it you wouldn't think the product has the strength to clean windows well (it looks almost too diluted), it actually does a very good job at it while being streak free (using the 2 MF towel method, 1 wet 1 dry). IMO, it works just as well if not better than Stoner's Invisible Glass at a fraction of the cost, and I think Stoner's IG is a very good glass cleaner.

When I detailed my neighbor's car, she was super anal about certain things so she took it upon herself to clean some of the windows and she even commented how amazing it was for a glass cleaner.

I'm curious to know if anyone's tried Duragloss' glass cleaner. Does anyone know if the gallon size is diluted or a concentrate? So far it seems like Duragloss is a sleeper hit and I'm planning on switching to their line of products.

I posted a long message about the stoner product but there was some sort of "Glitch" and it disappeared.

However it did an awesome job on my bathroom mirrors, they have NEVER been this good! It seems the glass disappeared and just left this absolutely clear pool of "nothing " behind, hard to explain, I've never seen anything like this before!

The "ULTIMATE" test will be on the sliding glass door that go's out onto my deck, it faces dead WEST!! If there is the slightest smudge/smear/ANYTHING, it will stand out like a sore thumb, no lie just fact!! That was what my neighbor was laughing about when she gave me the Stoners. As soon as I get the time I am going to give it this test, nothing has EVER passed the test from straight vinegar to every concoction seen on TV to recommendations by Maryland University, yes I even contacted them once. I'll let you guys know.

There is no way that I can try every product that everyone has suggested in a short time, it's just to costly. If the Stoners doesn't work I'll just try them one at a time as time/money permits. One thing is already certain, Windex is gone!!!!!!!

So far the only downside I see is that it is an Aerosol, I would really rather have a pump type solution. The environment is screwed up enough!!!

Vinegar/Water/Dish soap mix. I forget the exact amounts, but I love how it works on my car windows... and it's safe for tint.

they also sell it in a pump spray!

I haven't seen any of the local auto parts store here in SoCal sell Stoner's IG in pump spray form. It's always in an aerosol. Sam's Club sells a 4 pack for $10, which is cheap but nowhere near as cheap as buying the Meguiar's Detailer line concentrated glass cleaner.

hmm, i'm gonna have to look more carefully next time. I've always noticed only the aerosol version. One thing I have noticed is that their packaging does not stand out from the rest of the crowd. I have to look carefully to find IG or Tarminator (i believe that's the name for their bug/tar remover?)

Meguiars NXT Window cleaner is simply the best window cleaner out there. It is impossible to get streaks from, cleans strong, and leaves a rainx like protectant behind that causes crazy water beading.

In the review section, its the highest rated window cleaner out there and if I had to give up all my Megs products except one, the NXT Window cleaner is the only one I would keep.

Good grief, so many of you guys like the Megs NXT, I think I would be cutting myself short if I didn't give it a try! Especially since the neighbors are going crazy on the things I am learning and passing on to them. The stoners has really been great in the house, so I am going to wait till I get the NXT and do one side of the test sliding door and the other side with Stoners.

About a month, will give me all the information I or you will need. This sliding door go's through hell from it's location mainly, and the elements it is exposed to.

If you think there is something to consider in applying, tell me now before I start! This is the only two products I am testing, because it will reflect the outcome of a "RAW" example, meaning, uncleaned!

Where do you get the Meguiars NXT cheap?

I am within 13 miles of WM,KM, and several auto type stores
