I'm just pissed that there are oblivous people out there who drive such a big vehicle when it isn't needed. That include's my son's friend with the the Yukon. She's nice but hate the fact that she's a single mother with only a kid having a big car.

Those who put their to good use like haul stuff, fine good. I just sometimes can't understand why a person wouldn't want a car that is more ruel efficient. Is that a bad thing?

I decided to see what's so attractive in being the SUV club. I did the groceries using the minivan and hauled 5 bags. There, I saw other owners doing the same. 2 Suburbans, a Tahoe, 2 Explorer, a Expedition, a MDX, a H2, and a RX330. All only one person driving.

And I'm especially proud of this! Gotta love being a giant vehicle owner!

And like I mentioned, the car looks great!

LOL! Gawd, I think we're all INSANE

they are also good for the fact when your in a smaller car people tend to cut you off and pull out on you when they shouldve really waited

when they see a tank like this rolling their way they think twice most the time atleast

Thanks bud, I asked them to go ahead and close this thread, I never expected a martyr thread for SUV's.:nixweiss

You're welcome. Biggest vehicle I detailed in the last two years was my parents Crown Victoria. They wrecked it the following winter on some black ice, so they got an Explorer. As big as the Crown Vic was, the Explorer took longer to detail. Maybe it's the height (and the fact that I'm a short dude:D ).

Big vehicles are a trip to detail, but the results are more fun. It's wild to see all that shiny paint!!:xyxthumbs

What does need have to do with the American lifestyle???

We don't need fries and a shake with our big macs.

We don't need 3000 sq feet if living space.

We surely don't need credit cards and the instant gradification they supply.

Need aint got nothing to do with it, you really want someone to file through your life and tell you what you need?

Want controls us.

Oh yeah, Nice job on the Bus.

I rarely stop by MacDonalds

I live in a house a bit smaller than that

That's the wife, not me.

There many things we don't need in life. But things having a negative effect on something so important needs some attention.

lol this is crazy

so because u were at the grocery store and they were in their suv shopping they had no use for the suv because they were alone???? what parent truely wants to take their kids shopping with them? many can only afford one car

and for ur minivan if u were really concerned about the ozone you would ride a bike or something that emits no harful contamination

as for railways DIESEL powers the generators for the locomotives i highly doubt they get good mileage since they have i think 5000 gallon diesel tanks on them? correct me if im wrong but i know that railways arent the answer this is the 21st century not the 1800's

anyways the excusion looks great

i was recently watching A&E discovery, about cruise ships...apparently it takes one gallon of diesel fuel for it to travel 6 inches. 1 gallon / 6 inches!!!

nope, dont feel bad for getting 16 mpg.

Yep, but it's moving 2000+ people.

dude, your not winnin the battle here. kay?!

BTW, i have an animal activist friend who would take alot of offence to your Sienna having LEATHER interior....do you really need leather in your vehicle...those poor cows (insert me LOL here)

give us all break CarsFreak and kindly politely bow out of this one.

like my disclaimer stated, it was just food for thought!! gotta admit thats pretty awesome though..... just useless trivia i guess!! cheers.

okay, i'll be the better guy, and kindly politely bow out of this.

(insert picture of rolling eyes and me washing my hands of this one!!)

Go ahead, like I care. I never asked you specifically and you being in or out of this debate really has no effect on it.

Au Revoir!

Not "kay"

And like I had a choice of having leather or not. It came standard.

If it was up to some people, we would still be using horses for horespower. :)

If you want to blame anyone, blame the goverment. Do you really think that we don't have the technology to use other form of fuel?

With a 20+ years of experience in nutrition, I can tell you that YOU ARE POISONING YOURSELF with the very foods that you eat daily Yet if I were to make suggestions, you'd laugh at it.

BTW, why do you need a car? Couldn't you take the bus?

And we also need Luxury/Sport cars that have worse milage then these huge suvs.

Please - I understand where yhou are coming from, but you are wrong to point fingers.

Here is an idea for you: Why not put your energy into convincing polititions to start a society that doesn't use killing to create peace. That should keep you busy for awhile. :D

Oh really? Make some suggestions. Everybody is entitled to freedom of speech.

And BTW, I do take the bus into NYC for work. "Kay?"

Regarding luxury/sports car. I see them less of a threat since well not everybody can afford them. True a Murcielago manages 9 MPG but who in the average Joe class buys them? Go outside and I see a lot more SUVs than a Lambo going around.

And regarding the Sienna. I wanted the other features included in that model and having leather or not won't really affect me. I wish it was optional.

So basically what you want is OK, but not what we want.

You will not win this discussion.

Actually, originally, I just expressed my distaste for these vehicles. No where did I start pointing out which member I hated until you people got all defensive because I was rearing my head into your SUVs.

And you own a Jetta and your girlfriend owns a Sienna. How may I ask does this affect you? Or was somebody else?

So you're also saying that killing a cow is much more important than saving the place the cow lives on?

CarsFreak: I will once again say:

NEVER DETAIL YOUR CAR AGAIN AS LONG AS YOU LIVE

Detailing products not only use natural resources (yes, even petroleum) but also release VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) which contribute to the same problem that vehicles contribute to. So if you TRULY value the earth, don't ever touch a bottle of wax, polish, QD, whatever again as long as you live.

And in that vein, it would seem you don't need to be on Autopia.

Gee, isn't that a coincidence?
