Eagle One Wax-As-U-Dry

IF EO WAUD works for you..by all means use it.:wavey

I only posted the info I got on the product to pass it along to others. :xyxthumbs

GearHead...If you are referring to Meguair's as "a trusted" brand, I would agree that they have great brand loyalty and promotion. I use some of their products myself. But....to just blindly believe everything they write, as a tech article, is foolhardy. They are in business to sell their products, and their "articles" are going to be slanted towards making their products look good. One just has to keep that in mind when reading things written by a maker. They have a motive for you to believe all this....to sell product. Right?

(Another "trusted brand" of car product would be Fram. Incredible brand loyalty and promotion, yet a mediocre product. In a recent test I read about oil filters, they were at the bottom of the heap.)

There's certainly bigger fish to fry. Again, I only passed along what I found out about a product. Isn't that what this site is all about?

Uhhh.... well I wasn't. I was refering to the link you posted promoting (Silicone Free) M-Ron Glass. That would be why I linked your quote to my comment. I should have been more clear on that one.

Your last couple of posts came across as if you feel that someone is picking on you (at least my read) for posting your opinion. I didn't see where that had happened. If It was me I'm sorry, that wasn't my intent.

Your posts regarding your distain for any type of silicone on your vehicles are frequent and many and that's O.K. That said any raves on a product that contains silicone are another opportunity for you to voice this opinion. If this product doesn't work for you then by all means don't use it.

GearHead...understood. And, it's cool. I'm not thin-skinned, especially about car wax. I take none of this personally. But, thanks for the clarification. This is all about hearing what others have to say about products and procedures.

Sorry about the mix-up with "trusted brand". I have never used that product and certainly don't plan to....and surely did not mean to "promote it". It was just to show that everyone will write articles (whether one agrees or not) to better sell their product.

Finally, you're right...I do have a problem with silicones....but all that is for another time.

Take care.

Just my .02

Alright from everyone's reviews I decided to pick up some WAUD @ walmart for 3.97. I used my wife's silver Murano as the guinea pig after I qew each panel I sprayed a small amount and wiped. No streaks or haze and It didn't require a second wipe like QEW normally does plus it gives a real nice shine . It didn't take very much at all I could probably get 7-9 washes out of that bottle, alittle goes a long way. I used it on windoews and it worked well but I would buff these really well to avoid streaking. With QEW and WAUD it should cut my wash time time down considerably, no more QD, and no more havin to go back and clean the windows. So if you haven't tried it, I would give it a look and for 4.00 its a steal, give it two

For what it is intended for....it does a splendid job....

I have had the best results on a dry car. I dry the car and take a wet MF towel and wring it out well. Then I basically QD the car as I would with any other product. The difference is that WAUD dresses the trim and windows too, ONE product for a detailed car! It does shine nice, but is NO substitute for a quality sealant when it comes to protection and durabilty. It's a good product to grab for a quick spruce me up.

DK,

Is this WAUD compatible with your Zaino. Sounds like a really nice quik spruce me up produce and can really save on the Z6 overhead.

I will probably pick-up a bottle tomorrow to try on my newly Zaino'd wife's car if you state that it works on your Zaino'd Bimmer.

I used WAUD over Zaino with no problems. I have a ford explorer with plastic trim. WOW it stands out. My SUV has an awsum finish WAUD seems to really add shine. My wife's red Maxima also likes WAUD over Zaino. I would buy more. I am going to put the WAUD in an old empty zaino bottle which has a finer spay to use less.

To answer your questions

1. I don't use WAUD over zaino and wouldn't do that. I love Z6!!!! I have not gotten to my spring detail yet. I clayed, and applied AIO, and have not started layering my zaino and for the past few weeks have been experimenting with WAUD after each wash. When I finally zaino the car it will be Z6 all the way.

2. I did not have good results using WAUD on a wet car. I dry the car and use a damp MF towel to buff it off just like I was QDing the car. A little goes a long way. On a dark car, it looks as if it might streak some when used "as you dry."

3. I am happy with the shine, and it seems to last through at least one rainstorm. It is the BEST quick spruce me up product out there in my opinion.

Now the bad news......I have noticed a considerable amount of dust pickup since I have been using it. Everything sticks to the car now........

Thanks DK. :bow

DK,

That is why I asked the question directly to you. You are renowned for your adherence (usage not zealot) to the Zaino system and I was surprised that you would alter your regimen.

I too worried about streaking on my black vehicles because I had this problem with Lackfinish when used prior to drying vehicle on a black vehicle (non-Zaino)( Lackfinish great as a polymer QD). To my surprise the Zaino black Lexus came out great. Absolutely zero streaking, spotting (water) or hazing. I used a Exceldetail blue WW. It really does make drying a lot easier.

The results were equivalent or maybe a slight edge in "POP" to using Z6, QS, WG in terms of appearance. No greasy after-feel and surface was very slick but not Z6/WG/QS slick.

Later yesterday evening I did a dry (QD) with WAUD on the Z28 (garage queen protected by WG and topped with EX-P). WAUD worked great and left a excellent gloss, surface feel and again streak-free results.

I am doing a dust attraction test today. I drove the Z28 to work.:D and the Lexus sat outside all night.

I believe this WAUD in combination with QEW for a quicky wash and wax may be a very formidable combination and an excellent QD anytime.

Time will tell. :xyxthumbs

My car is currently sealed with klasse and topped with s100, if i did WAUD when i did a quick wash would it diminish or interact negativly with my s100? If not, when i did have time, could i just throw another coat of s100 on or being that i used the WAUD screw the entire process up? Thanks

How did the dust attraction test turn out? I'm very interested in WAUD but it is usually dusty at my workplace's parking lot. I don't need a dust magnet :D
