I do know there have been studies done were they give people a cheap product and they weren't hot for it but when they gave them the same product with a much higher price tag and different label they loved it!It wasn't done with spray wax but I have a feeling the same principles apply.
That was recently done with wine, and when a $5 wine was compared to a $35 wine-but the participants were told the $5 version was $50, they judged it better than the $35 (or whatever the exact price was) wine. Wine afficianodos were of course, horrified and claimed they were sure true wine experts wouldn't be fooled.
People want to believe they are getting their money's worth, but the mark-up on most products is pretty outrageous. I am into road biking and a quality road bike can run several thousand dollars. Funny thing though, in the winter, they seem to be able to discount a $5000 bike to $3500 and I don't see the bike shops going out of business....:nervous2:
