Can anyone else check? I'm concerned, as it's one of the other great boards.

Replies would be appreciated! :bawling:

Thanks again guys,

.Charles

Yeah I have been trying for several days as well. Not sure whats going on over there and I dont have eMails or IMs with any of the owners

Damn, I just posted the same thread after I did a search on this and it did not come up with anything in the search. Odd. I asked the Moderators to delete my redundant thread.

Anyway, still unable to reach the forum.:shocked

Hope someone "over there" can shed some light on what's up.

Regards,

Deanski

I've been having the same problem and it was my feeling that we hadn't seen one of the moderators, David??, for a while.

Ok, I'm not the only one having trouble...

Oh hey Macruz, yea I don't know what's up...

:sosad

I do appreciate the hospitality of this board, though - I've read there is quite the animosity between some members of 'Detailersclub.com' and this board. :thx

Over car wax ? Say it isnt so:argue

I received this info from one of the Admins:

what started as a simple mandatory IP migration has turned into a total crash of our server and admin panel software. Much of this was caused by our web host not keeping us current on software, and other parts are due to "stuff happens" syndrome and other things. I guess you could say we got caught in a perfect storm of web based problems.

To compound things our webmaster is on vacation out of the country and I'm trying to figure out everything myself, and I do not know squat about FTP, SQL, cPanel, WHM, VPS or any of that web server stuff. I've got some help from other forum mods and friends so we're doing the best that we can.

I don't have an ETA as to when we'll be back up but we're making progress every day. No data has been lost but we are, in essence, having to recreate the forum from scratch. I remember how long it took us to figure it out the first time.

Oh that blows!:aww: Thanks for the update!

Well, let's hope they get the site up as soon as they can.

Unfortunately its true. DavidB is spoken about in the same terms as bin Laden over there claiming there is vast product cencorship over here. It's quite comical really. Some of those guys have some insecurity issues.

So maybe it is karma? ;)

Let us not forget that Autopia is also a forum for a line of products that the owner(s) of this forum wish to promote. It is also the right of the forum owner(s) to limit those who may infringe on the products in which are promoted or may have produced an opinion truthful or not on those products they (owners) which to sell.

This is not in reference to obvious shills, spammers etc.

Autopia has changed as other forums have changed. Yes we have some open and very highly debated opinions of a product. It's when this debate may impact the products now being sold, developed or in production that can have an effect. Some of these have had a positive effect. Case in point, people who have purchased a UDM and have basicly field tested this new polisher, now have the ability to have the product changed out, repaired etc because Autopia stood behind that product, took all opinions and testing, turned it around for their benefit in future revisions. On the other hand, some debates can lead to being banned if found to be a direct attack with or without merrit. If I owned a line of products which were being discredited by an individual, you can bet I'd ban that individual. It's my site, my product, so why should I tollerate it? It's business, nothing personal.

Still, there are some items that people feel strongly about and for that, there are other forums to discuss those items or issues. Zaino has always been a love/hate relationship here or on other forums. Therefore, Detailersclub is a place for those that want to discuss Zaino products or other products without fear of being banned.

Detailersclub is a very young forum as opposed to Autopia, so there may not be such a diverse amount of talent, or other hobby users with years of experience as there are here. Give it some time, it will grow (if it can fix it's own technical problems) and hopefully become another open forum without bashing or fear of being banned.

Give it time, the forum may grow. And I wish to extend my hand out to other Autopia members to one day come over, say hello and offer some advise since there are other products other than Zaino right?:lol

Have a happy holiday to all!

Regards,

Deanski

Of course, but the other forums don't allow discussion of any products that are not forum sponsored. Here's we can talk about ANY product, as long as their's not ulterior motives. Other forums delete your posts if you're not conforming to their suggested products. I haven't seen it here.

Maybe I haven't noticed, but who's gotten banned here for discussing Zaino? Their whole product line is discussed constantly just as much as any other's here.
