coupe or sedan, what do you prefer?

Bringing back an older thread :D

I prefer 2-doors, and here's why:

1. I feel that 2-doors get more attention to detail, both in the front and back seat areas. 4-doors seems to get all the glim and glamor up-front, but then throw crap together in the back to make it a 4-door. Exceptions are those nice 4-doors, usually luxury (ie Lexus, MB, 7-series BMW) that usually include some attention to small things and more buttons besides the standard window switch.

2. I'm 6'2" and 2-doors are usually easier for me to in and out.

3. 2-doors are usually more sporty looking, and I'm a sport-car kind of guy:bigups

4. I don't like to "haul" passengers around, excluding the wife, so I have no need for 4-doors.

5. Coupes are just plain sexier than 4-doors! (very few exceptions)

Love coupes and have owned a few...but when the new design 2007 G35 Sedan came out...I actually loved the looks and lines on it compared to the coupe....also the extra room was a plus.......so I purchased one....and happy I made that choice:bigups

Sedans - with two kids, a coupe is out of the question.

Quick joke... and very corny - why does a chicken coop have two doors? If it had four doors it would be a chicken sedan.

4-door for me...the updated design of sedans make the choice easy especially with kids. you also get a larger trunk for golf clubs...

Coup.

I'm tall so I usually have the seat back all the way and in most sedan's that puts the B pillar right next to my noggin. Not only does this create an odd blind spot, but it makes it very uncomfortable (see "impossible) to rest my arm on the window ledge.

They usually look cooler too, but for me its more about the ergonomics (damn that word makes me feel old).

Hard for me to say; I think it really depends on the model of the vehicle. A vehicle like the 335i looks good both in coupe or sedan and barely any difference. The new G35 Sedan IMO looks much better than the G37 Coupe. My next vehicle will be a coupe still; probably a M3/335i.

the 3 series coupes are very nice, but i don't like the sedans as they look to small/cramped...

Definitely coupe for me. As a single guy with no kids, I don't need a back seat. Plus I hate hauling people around. Love the styling and cockpit like feel.

looks great! :up

I prefer wagons over either, but I'd lean more towards a sedan. IMO, Coupes should only seat 2, like a 350Z, etc.

In the good old days -50s , 60s, 70s, a coupe - 2 door Hardtop was a 6 passenger car. I had a 64 Chevy Impala, and a 70 Ford XL, both 2 dr HTs and I had 2 kids. In fact my wife, 2 kids my mother and a dog went to Florida in the Ford XL.Now a days coupes are just to small. Years ago you could drive a sporty type car and still have a family.

I prefer sedans. In most cars, I actually prefer the styling of the 4 door model compared to the 2 door. Something about a high-performance, "sleeper" sedan really appeals to me.

My view exactly :D I'm sorta fanatical about the sleeper aspect, even pulling the badges off so it's "just another four-door".

Yeah, me too :xyxthumbs My dream car would be a shooting brake conversion on my S8.

Heh heh, I honestly don't think *anybody* has ever sat in the back of my S8. For that matter, I usually pull both the second and third row seats out of the dog-haulers ("nah, sorry, can't take passengers, no seats back there..").

Hey, not like I can't appreciate a good coupe though (e.g., the Jag) and even a few of my favorite dog-haulers were coupes.

I prefer sedans but I have owned coupes as well.

I typically don't do much passenger hauling and when I do it's usually my wife and friends going out for dinner or something like that.

I agree, sedans are the best
