coupe or sedan, what do you prefer?

I usually don't carry passengers, so my coupe is just fine. When I do need to carry passengers, I'm willing to live with having to move the seat forward... plus, the back of the tC has more space than a lot of small four door cars, so that's not really a big deal. Tall people might be bumping their head on the hatch door however if the backseat has not been reclined slightly.

I have to agree with the majority here, I prefer the styling of coupes in general. However certain sport sedans and wagons can look just as cool. Actually, an agressively styled coupe or wagon can sometimes look better than a coupe. But for me carrying things, my dog, etc a sedan works better for me.

My wife is not a car enthusiast in anyway. I almost fell out of my seat when we were driving home tonight, keep in mind she generally goes for SUV's. She said when she hits VP level in a few years shes wants a 911 Turbo! But as long as we have a truck for towing things. I guess it goes to show that a sexy coupe can make anyone dream!

Personally I prefer four-doors. I like being able to carry four people comfortably, plus sedans tend to get noticed a lot less by the police so I can drive faster.

Give me a 4door hatch or an Audi A4 Avant. Plenty of doors to get in and out plus better cargo capacity than a sedan.

For a coupe you can NOT go wrong with my personal car. An E92 BMW 335i.

Twin Turbo, RWD, 300hp - 300lb ft. torque...:bolt

The shame of it is in the 50s and 60s coupes were as practical as sedans. You could put 6 people in a coupe which was called a 2 door Hardtop back then. You had the sportyness and the room. You could have your cake and eat it.

The only problems where the heavy doors that would sag over time. I had a 1980 Camaro that I had to have new door brackets installed to to the doors sagging. Heck, I even think the Camaro had more back seat room than the Impreza 4 door I had. LOL

Bump ay? I think Ill only drive coupes aside from an Audi A4 or an Evolution IX which im scratching to find with the options and color I want. I think of it like this: A 4 door invites carrying passengers....which I dont like. I keep all my supplies in the trunk anyway and am able to hide stuff in my coupe on the floor better. A finally by putting stuff in my trunk I am evening out weight distribution therefore making my car handle better!

I have both and like both. I didn't and wouldn't own a sedan until last year. I have 2 now. I have a '99 Eclipse which is a 2 dr hatchback, an '03 Neon R/T sedan, an '08 WRX sedan my ranger which is regular cab 2 door...

I alway owned a 4 door sedan but this year I wanted a new Honda Civic so I went to the dealership and compared the 4 door and 2 door Civics and the 2 door civic coupe was the best looking of the two and I thought I mostly drive alone , and once in a while my wife sits in the passenger seat ,so why not get the coupe? I'm so glad I got the coupe it looks and feels faster than it really is.

I believe if you want a true luxury car then go for a sedan even though some luxury cars have both coupe and sedan versions on certain models; for muscle cars and true sports cars no question 2 door; suvs look better with 4 doors even though some come in 2.

i just love this, it has the look of a coupe but is a sedan... :up

Coupe, definitely, since I have no need for the extra set of doors (or a back seat, for that matter; I've had people sit in my back seat maybe 5 times in the last year). Also, I haven't owned a sedan yet, and I intend to keep it that way (my next car is most likely going to be an RSX, and after that it'll probably be a 3 Series coupe; listen to me, predicting my choice of cars like 10 years into the future). :chuckle:

Since this thread got bumped, I'll say that I *still* prefer sedans. I don't think I've *ever* had a passenger in the back of the S8, but I still find 'em more practical.

OK..there *are* a few coupes (but only two-door ones) that I kinda like...but they're all mega-buck cars that I wouldn't use for daily drivers anyhow.

I like my sedan's more. I'm a sucker for big boats. I drive a Buick Regal and love it. I'm also a sucker for Audi A8's, Lexus LS430/460, BMW 750i, 5 series, anything big! Don't get me wrong I like certain coupes, camaro, 335i, corvette, hell I even bought a Volkswagen GTI hatchback.

Coupe and convertible. I've got a Lexus SC430, BMW Z3, Porsche Boxster, and Lexus SC300 in my stable. Am looking at Honda S2000 and Mazda Miata to add to the collection.
