My tin of 5050 showed up today! (#120 of 2000) I can't wait to use it on my black 300C this weekend. Stay tuned..............

I've used my 5050 twice now and all I can say is wow, I love it! It goes on and comes off so easily and the look is just awesome.

Well Here is my 5 week update. I finally after 10 days of flooding rain, windstorms, and solid walls of seattle's famous liquid sunshine had to admit the 50/50 topper met it's end. The leadin edge of the hood, fenderss, doors, and rear lower quarter panel started to show signs of needing re done.
my car had sat outside for 7 of those 10 stormy days, it had driven through newmerous flooded out roads, Driven several thousand miles on the freeway in walls of mist.. 5 weeks out of a single layer of the wax is imho very good.

5 weeks in those conditions is pretty good. Try to extend the protection by spit shining 5 layers of it. I'd be curious how it'll hold up. I'm sure that it would be more than 5 weeks.

to be honest it lasted 5 weeks, but really 4 weeks is the last week where it looked close to 100%.
Never the less that last week with an average of 1.5 inches of rain a day and driving 80 + miles a day did it in.
doing some quick adding I think i put around 6-7k in milage on the car since i put the wax on back in early october.

It must be a terrific wax! I will try it but Paul answered only to 1 from my 6 emails... I sent my order but still no reply from him...

I had the opportunity to break open my new tin of 5050 today & apply a layer on my black 300C. I'm sure glad I did! What a difference it made. My "C" has had Z5 Pro/Z2 Pro/Z8 combo on it for the last 6 1/2 weeks since I bought it. It looked terrific, but something was missing. To my eye, there really is a difference in look between the Zaino system & a quality carnauba.
I started with a Z7 wash, then qd'd with FK #425. My black paint came alive after the #425. I almost stopped there. But being the carnauba junkie I am, coupled with my excitement to give the 5050 a try, I began the process. I used a dampened mf applicator and noticed how evenly & easily the 5050 applied. I applied it to 2 panels then came back to remove the 5050 with a short napped mf. I finished up my car, then came back with some #425 to give it the finishing touch. HOLY CRAP!! Rich, deep, wet pool of blackness! I'm very happy with the 5050. Can't wait to see my car in the morning!

Rob, I agree. 425 works better for me than Z6. It is sensational how it evens out even the most different LSPs, and gives them a glossy, uniform look. If this can be heightened with the 5050, then it is surely a perfect wax! I'm itching to try it!

When I spoke to the gentleman at CG he said they were making them in lots of 2000... and keeping 100 or so cans from each lot on the shelf. After the first batch of 2000 they will produce another 2000... of course just like any product you see there will be slight batch variations. Hence the reason theyll keep 100 stocked from each batch, so if you REALLY wanted a batch from a certain lot you could probably request one. That is of course if you could even tell a difference.

As for the 5050..........It seems to be Chemical Guy's answer to the Pinnacle Wax lineup, IMO. Some have made comparisons between 5050 & P21S, but I beg to differ a bit. P21S is a great wax, but I feel that the 5050 is more in line with the Pinnacle's. To me, it seems like a cross between Souveran & Natty's Blue. (in terms of appearance) Depth, gloss, richness, crisp reflections & wetness are 5050's strong points. My black paint looks delicious! It was about 62 degrees out, yesterday, when I gave the 5050 it's trial run. My guess is that it also contains a polymer due to some of the residue left over after my initial removal/wipe down. (easily cleaned up with 425.) 5050 doesn't seem as "oily" as Souveran, yet produces that same liquid shimmer & glow. As for durability? It's now day 2 of my 5050 experience. We'll have to see. If it gives me & my car a minimum of 4 strong weeks of performance, then I'll be quite happy. To me, a beauty wax so to speak, generally performs strongly for a 3-4 week period of time, (i.e. Souveran) so we'll have to see if 5050 is a "Beauty Wax" or much more............... So far, So good!
