Chemical guys concours 5050 wax

Great pics. This is a sweet wax. the durability is great through all that rain. I had mine on a daily driver for three wks before reapplying (It was still beeding after the wash and before reapplying).

Nice photos Grouse!

I am loving the 5050 as well!!! It's great and I see the same beading too. Almost half the price of Souveran, gotta love that!! :2thumbs:

one must ask one's self, is it wrong to spend hundreds of dollars on wax ? . . . . 200 dollars later, I am still waiting for an answer . . .

Good to know that we are not alone.

35TH LE,

I am really enjoying the FS sealant. It may not have the slickest feel to it, more silky/satin (if that makes sense), but it really deepened/added dept to the green color of the jag :). And apply thin coats. This thing can be layered like in 30min.

With Pin. Souveran you won't be sorry. Cost is high but it is well worth it. I have tried at least 15 different waxes and paint sealants but always come back to PS. I would plan on waxing once a month. I have had people ask me if my car had been repaint, what wax I use, nice ride, etc.... It really gets the attention!

Yeah.... I must admit.. me too. :chuckle:

We have a disease, dont we? :nixweiss :chuckle:

Oh yeah, 5050 comes very close to PS and is probably a better buy. 2nd best IMO. Prep is very important!

I think its too close to call bw souveran and 5050 imo. Do not get me wrong, I have been a PS user for years (one of my goto) and still have 2 jars (got them at half price on ebay ;) ). But, imo and on my cars, 5050 comes out ahead based on what I mentioned earlier (as easy to use as PS, wet look almost as good as PS, BUT also the great visual range as some of the zymol Eglazes, longer durability for me at least than PS). Price is an added bonus ;) .

Souveran has been my chosen LSP on my Black car for the 18 months, but since picking up 50/50 last week that has just changed. Did hald a panel with Souveran and half with 50/50.

Pains me to say it but the 50/50 looked better.

Richt... your thread also sealed the deal on the 5050 for me. In your pictures it seemed to me that the 5050 had more clarity then the Souveran.

Great lookin little car too!

35TH LE,

Yes, you are right: 5050 gives a better range/clarity (similar to the great characteristics of the zymol estate waxes).

Richt,

I have been a loyal souveran user for years, but as mentioned before, imo, 5050 looks better to me.

Honestly, I like Natty's Blue better than Souveran for my red car, but just got some 5050 and am hoping to try it out this weekend.

Nattys Blue for me gave a wetter look to the paint, but lacks the depth the Souveran and 50/50 give. I tend too use a layer of the Nattys Blue first and then add a layer of Souveran over the top later for the best of both worlds. Alternating between the two as I add further layers.

Do like I did. Take 1/2 jar PS and 1/2 N.Blue melt them in a old pot on the stove pour back and let cool. Now I have the best of two waxes.........How addicting is that?
