Well...Had a demo today of this product, I helped him out with it...we put about 2 hours of prep work into if before actually applying the X-Cote...There were some heavy scratches we wetsanded then buffed out with Meguire's #2, fine scratch remover...there were some bird dropping stains on the roof that we wetsanded/cut as well.. The car was a black Nissan Sentra. After we polished the sanding marks out we washed it, degreased it, rolled it into a paint booth and applied the X-kote..Took about 30 minutes to apply BY HAND, then let it dry for about 2 hours. Rolled it back outta the paint booth, put on a coat of Klasse Sealant Glaze.
The car, minus rock chips, small dents, down-to-the-metal scratches, looks pretty brand new. Absolutely NO swirls and extremely wet looking.
We brought it to the doubtful autobody manager, who has been in the autobody biz for about 29 years and he was pretty impressed. I think the said autobody does about a $4 million dollars of business a year...so it's not to say he hasn't been around to see crappy products, but this one is truly amazing.
Go ahead and doubt it all you want, the end results are pretty outstanding. Now go cut polish and wetsand away for 16 hours to get results somewhere close to this.
Yes I work at a dealership that sells used cars, and yes we plan on using it for that purpose. To do a job that takes 16 hours versus a job that takes 3 hours and gives you similar end (if not better) it only makes sense and ends up costing about the same, HOWEVER you don't need a pro that knows how to use a radial polisher properly, and there's no such thing as burning the paint with X-Kote.
