Wait a second; can you buy any of that in Utah?

Well, I drink (too much of): Kirin Lager, Kirin Ichiban Shibori, Ebisu, Heineken, Suntory Malts, and any of a large range of "HAPPOSHU" , which are cheap, "unofficial" beers.

"Dogfish Head World Wide Stout 23(!)% : I have a feeling I'll die a happy man, even without having tried that deliciously titled beverage :hide: :spit:

I've been drinking whatever my roomate brings home. He's a beer distributor so our fridge is always full and its contents are always changing. :)

Ssssh

I'm not a big fan of stout's, but I'll give it a try. Awesome conversational piece though.

The only thing wrong with it is that it is about 7.5% alcohol and the smallest size bottle is 22oz, so you kind of can't just drink a beer without getting a bit looped. I just finished a case that I bought back in April some time, maybe March.

Guinness is a stout not a beer but that is another discussion. I guess Guinness used to be my favourite drink before I stopped drinking alcohol.

The Guinness in Ireland tastes very different to the export stuff

Just curious... Are you talking about bottled Guinness in Ireland vs. bottled G. in the US, or pub draft G. in Ireland vs. bottled G. in the US? I've always wondered if they sell it bottled over there.

A few facts/whatever. There is a Guiness Extra Stout which most people have heard of and then there is a Guiness Draught (bottle) and a Guiness Draught (can).

Mosca,

Which beer are you talking about?

Saison Dupont (Saison Style) (Belgium) 750ml $8.00

Rochefort 8 (Trappist Style) (Belgium) 330ml $8.40

Dogfish Head World Wide Stout (Stout Style) (Deleware) 12oz. $8.75

Guiness Draft (Ireland) 330ml $1.40

Celebrator Double Bock (Double Bock Style) (Germany) 12oz. $2.95

Aventinus (Wiezen Bock) (Germany) 500ml $3.85

I was thinking about the Draught Guinness in errr draught (tap) form. The cans taste close to the 'tap' version but I am not a fan of the bottled products.

It is a long way to travel to Ireland to taste the real thing but it is worth it.

People should checkout the Microbrew's in there towns/city's. Most of them have some awesome beer to offer. I'm getting psyched to try out all these new beers I've read/heard about. Next week I'm planning on spending $114 for a few of them. A couple of woman I work with will be placing oders as well.

My brother lived in Ireland and said the EXACT same thing. You couldn't compare the two.

An authentic Irish pub opened up in my town where the actual bar and decorations were imported from Ireland in pieces. The whole Guiness aparatus to hold, properly store and pour the stout is setup the way it is in Ireland. Pretty cool.

Personally, I'm not a beer drinker in the connoisseur fashion like some of you guys here. When I get together with the fellas to watch the game, it's usually Heinekin. To be honest, I get bloated after three and get the hiccups!!

For the most part I drink Vodka on the rocks, sometimes Bombay Saphire Gin. My favorite cocktail is the Vodka or Gin Gimlet made the proper way with squeezed lime and a teaspoon of powdered sugar. Most of my friends drink liquor (Johnny Walker). Getting together in the early evenings for an aperitif and mixing cocktails is a ritual for us before we go out for the night. Or at least it was before they started to get married and drop like flies. Now, it's dinner parties with loads of good wine :D Oh, and I love after dinner drinks - Franjelica, neat.

I just can't get myself to like drinking those heavy beers that John mentioned for whatever reason.

In Brooklyn, NY there is a noted microbrewery that supposedly makes great beer.

My best friend lived in the home once owned by the owner of Pabst Beer. He had all kinds of cool signs from YEARS and YEARS ago in his attic. In fact, decades ago, many of the beer barons lived in the wealthy section of my town because their breweries were a few minutes away in Newark, NJ - noted for its incredible water resevoirs. When I drive to New York City, I see the huge Anheuser Bush brewery with the huge neon eagle flapping its wings

I got the following in my fridge,

New Castle Brown Ale

Corona Light

Heinekein

Beck's

Smirnoff Ice

Smirnoff Ice Triple Black

Bacardi Silver

Budweiser

Also keep a bottle of Moet White Star and Perrier Joulet (SP?) for special occasions. Also a bottle of white wine in the fridge too. (Eh why not add in all the alcohols, lol.) I'm not even getting into the hard liquor, lol.

As for most often, I love my New Castle Brown Ale, have it about once a week. I try to limit myself to the alcohol intake to one serving a week.

This week I had a bottle of 95 Cristal :) (well glass, really special occasion :) )
