Consider the source.....Not the first time someone has put words in anothers mouth. *yawn*

"just the IMO misguided multi-layer concept Exactly what i was after....Thanks for clarification TO

Nobody put words in your mouth, you managed to accomplish that all on your own. Normally if it was a regular member I probably wouldn't have said anything, but since it's a competing vendor (who's been warned in the past for spam) I thought I'd point it out.

Watch out for the undercovers! :nixweiss

Someone is LOL'ing all the way to the bank at this moment....:nixweiss

Just curious, how long the Z**** has been around?

Look, another Zaino bashing thread from a ClearKote distributor. *Yawn*

:sosad

Like you don't subtly bash products that aren't Zaino.

The issue here is the 75 layers, not the product.

LMAO, never even mentioned any product, you did. And about 90% of the people who have responded, dont even know im
a competing vendor
. So there was nothing meant, other than how i find it strange how such a great product is applied 75 times......

Now I have Scott and TOGTW to thank for reclarifying.

Brad, you took this in the direction it has traveled, no one else.

Like you didn't subtly hype ClearKote on Autopia for 4 months.

Patrick, you never mentioned any product? Might wanna read your post again. "If this product is sooo good, why sooo many coats ?" What product did you reference there, educate us.

The most layers I ever had on my car was about 10. I think the reasons that so many zaino users layer away are:

1. The product delivers - To a point, additional layers improve gloss and slickness. This is undisputed.

2. After a weekly wash and Z6 treatment, the car is perfectly prepped for another coat of zaino...... so why not? Zaino is so quick and easy to use once the car is prepped, it almost gets addictive to work in another layer with your weekly wash

3. As micro mars and swirling develops in the zaino layers from washing and improper toweling, a fresh coat is quick to fill in those imperfections in the sealant layer.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The most layers I ever heard of was 207. Here is a pic of the car after 199 coats of zaino.

I have personally seen a Silver T/A with >20 coats of zaino on it. When in the sun, the car was so bright you couldnt look it at without sunglasses. Truely an awesome sight and an optical effect that cannot be captured on film.......

 I wasn't subtle at all. I really like Clearkote products. Obviously a lot of other people do too. What I didn't do is bash other products in the process.

Brad, I didnt endorse any product ! I just asked if it sooo good, why sooo many coats ! You have to admit Brad, 75 coats ? You dont even find that a little excessive for any product ??

Do you even care to answer the threads topic ? Or just care to accuse members of wrong doing...

Once again, pulled over for driving the speed limit.....

As a newb, I'm stunned that anyone would think criticizing someone who put 75 layers on of anything is bashing the product.

I think the implicit Zaino criticism comes from seeing people make such posts all the time, in all sorts of places, about mass layering of Zaino.

I think saying, "Zaino is great!" or "Zaino is long-lasting!" or "Zaino is the best!" is all fine.

Saying I have 15x or 30x or 75x... of Z2 is laughable. I do think that any semi-objective person would notice that, excellent as Zaino probably is, it seems to be the only product that engenders such widespread worship and defensiveness on a routine basis.

Detailing for me is a pleasant pastime, no more.

I plan to try the little sample of Z2 and Z5 that I've obtained from some nice people, but right off the bat -- I have to say that the bad impression I have gotten of its supporters makes me want to not buy the product EVEN if it is the best.

I believe you, but any silver car with a highly polished paint job is going to do that.

Polished with #80 Speed Glaze, 1, as in one layer of NXT and the same phenomenom. You look where the sun is shining on the paint and you see spots in front of your eyes for a minute afterward.

Again, the point isn't the quality of Zaino, but the question of 75 layers!

The other thing is the zaino "glow" at night......especially on silver and white cars. You zaino users know what I am talking about. It seems to capture all the light in the area and emit it off.....amazing.

I've been using zaino on my silver car for a few weeks now. i've got about 10 coats on it right now. It looks pretty good and i know the glow that Detailking is freferring to.

Do i find applying 75 coats of Zaino a little excessive ? Yeah i think do !

But my question would be: is it any more excessive than me spending several hundred dollars on various products this summer just to try them out on my car with similar results ? I think the jury is still out on that one.

I see a lot of other people with excessive habits on here as well. As far as i'm concerned, if the guy wants to put 75 or 300 coats for that matter, of Zaino on his cars, all the power to him.

Bob

LOL, mention anything other than Zaino, and it's hype and you can criticize it; but if it's Zaino, it's a gift from the gods, and to criticize anyone mis-applying it is bashing.

I'd editorialize, but I have nothing personal against anyone here; I like you all.

This appeared TO ME to be a comment about flawed process, and MISGUIDED FAITH in a product, not about the product itself; we all know Zaino to be an excellent product, whether we use it or not.

THAT BEING SAID, it doesn't matter to me if the guy quits his job and liquidates his assets so that he will have more time and money to Zaino his car. Who cares? He should do his household appliances after that. And the dog dish next. It's a free country, and there are people competing for the world's largest ball of twine, so, Zaino the living spit out of your car for all I care. I wax mine whenever the heck I feel like it, and if that happens to be 3 times a day, well, stay out of my way as I'm reaching for the microfibers!

Why criticize them at all? So what if they like 75 coats of whatever product on their car? Let em do what they want.

I used to believe what you do - that some Zaino users are so over the top, it left a bad impression of the product. It took me awhile to figure out the problem wasn't them, it was me and my prejudices towards people who were over-enthusiastic about something I didn't believe in. I'd probably still have that mindset if I didn't use the product and learn about it. Now that I'm more educated I can appreciate the strengths of Zaino. IMO the product does live up to most of the hype (nothing could ever live up to ALL the hype).

Considering all the dirty, grimey, nasty cars on the road which are simply used and abused, you'd think people at a forum like this would be at least reasonably supportive of others who love and cherish their cars. But when you have folks who make comments like
More like bashing the intelligence level of people who actually think their cars have 75 layers of product on them.
you realize this isn't about criticizing a product but just another opportunity to bash PEOPLE who like real shiny cars. Especially when the thread is started by someone who is a distributor for a competing product.

Damn, I really wish DB would ban all the distributors and product shills from Autopia.
