I crack up everytime i visit this forum....Read this guys post.

"The Platinum Club!!!

Well, it's taken about 22 months and 13,000 odd miles but the Doc has just entered THE PLATINUM ZAINO LAYER CLUB!!!

That's right. This morning I rubbed off the 75TH LAYER of Zaino from The Brick.

I know I post a lot of pics of my car and I'm sure many of you get tired of them but I just couldn't resist. This car has been SO much fun for me the last couple of years and I had to take it out on yet another Photo Shoot today to celebrate this momentous occasion.

I dont have 75 coats of anything, on the two vehicles i own, for a combined 6 yrs! If this product is sooo good, why sooo many coats ?

I'm currently in the #16 'duece' club. 2 layers! :p

I don't get that many layers of anything either. :nixweiss Oh well, at least there is someone in this world in more need of female companionship than me!

I can't think of any other reason someone would put 75 layers on a vehicle. :nixweiss

^LOL :D

Honestly, we all know that the layering effect stops/diminishes after the 3rd or 4th layer. I think the Zealots are just lead to believe this so that they waste more product, meaning more $ for the supplier. Of course anyone doing 75 layers (erm...."layers") wouldn't know any better JMO.

I always say, you can layer as much as you want. But.............all of that gook has to come off in a year's time in order to really benefit your paint.

I've never put that many coats of anything on, but I have seen the benefit of adding several layers of a very good wax product on, over time on a clean paint surface (I emphasize clean...its a must).

Two coats will be good if your paint is in excellent condition and its not exposed to the elements. More than two coats (of a pure wax) will have to be put on slowly and allowed to dry to have a benefit (or at least from what I've experienced).

I visit the same forum and it's quiet funny. He pushes Zaino so much every one elses voices/opinions get drowned. There were few people who have tried, but they gave up. I'm glad that one of those people have posted a link to autopia.

I find it quiet funny since Zaino isn't the board sponsor. Also every one buys into the hype as if it some kind of a wonder drug, be it botox or push-up bra.

Also after compering 1 silver 350z which had zaino to my 350z (silver as well) which had Megs #7 and Mother's Natural Carnauba, I couldn't see what the hype was all about. Also my car looked more wet. Now after trying Mother's Sealer and Glaze topped with Megs #16 I think it looks even wetter the before and it was easier to use then Megs #7.

:rofl :rofl Too funny!

I thought I was a "layers freak" applying 6 layers of Zaino at a time (3x Z5 followed by 3xZ2 the next day) but 75? :scared

I guess I can appreciate the 75 layers, as a measure of just how much some misguided soul loves his vehicle, but as someone said earlier in the thread, my 6 layers are buffed off twice a year :D

Different strokes for different folks!:lol

How does he open the doors? Surely with the added thickness of 75 layers, the panel gap would be seriously diminished?

IMO there's no "Zaino bashing" involved. More like bashing the intelligence level of people who actually think their cars have 75 layers of product on them.

Zaino is a great sealant IMO, but it's just not for me. It's hard to beat on lighter colors. I just don't see why every single car forum I'm on has to be flooded with

"ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS WOW!!!!!"

"I CAN'T BELIEVE MY EYES!!!!!!"

"ZAINO TOOK MY PAINT'S FINISH TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL!!!!!!!"

"SAL ZAINO = GOD"

etc....you get the point.

Some people will just never realize that 95% of the depth and shine is from proper prepwork.

Matt,

I would have agreed until I saw this part of the post.

I believe the reason you see so many Zaino threads on various forums is because Zaino is one of the few products today that actually delievers on it's claims. This industry has become so flooded with marketing hype it's disgusting. It's very interesting that you NEVER see product reps for Zaino or Klasse on forums pushing their stuff. Why is that? The product speaks for itself; it doesn't need to be "sold".

The comments about Zaino aren't really anything new; they have been around for years. It's really no different than the bandwagon BS we see on Autopia everytime a new product comes out, we get "OMG, this product is the best ever!! Klasse and Zaino and everything else step aside!". Bla, bla, bla. Happens all the time. In the end they fade into the background and once again the superior products shine through.

~One mans opinion / observations~

Scottwax-“Oh well, at least there is someone in this world in more need of female companionship than me! My thought almost exactly as I read the title,’someone needs female/male companionship ‘ (hope that’s PC enough).

BradE-Look, another Zaino bashing thread from a ClearKote distributor. *Yawn* I don’t think anyone on this thread thus far is ‘bashing’ Zanio, just the IMO misguided multi-layer concept

I'm totally amazed that anyone would even belive the concept of 75 layers

~Hope this helps~

Knowledge unshared is experience wasted
