Josh...How did he end up doing at the show????

I have no idea, it was a 3 day show and I went on the second day.....

There were hundreds of 56 and 57 Bel Airs there, many of which were fully custom with chrome frame and suspensions and such, I highly doubt he placed in any way shape form or fashion.

Don't know how I missed this thread. Amazing work, Josh, especially on the paint! :bow

What did you use to clean the carpets? That loop pile carpet can be tricky because most brushes will cause it to fuzz.

Thanks Scott, the carpet did a bit of shedding, but really wasn't too dirty so I didn't have to scrub too much, just used 303 and a brush, then vacuumed it well.:xyxthumbs

Typically, I just use BioKleen TLC and a damp MF on that carpet. Period correct, but a PITA if it gets really dirty. :hairpull

Fantastic work on a gorgeous car. This is an amazing writeup. Congratulations on a job well done.

Thanks, it really is a great looking car. When I went to the show to see it, I saw dust all over and I was wishing I could just jump the ropes and give it a Z8 wipe down right then and there....:D

I'm not a classic car type of guy. I like my cars from Germany, my beer from Amsterdam, and I use fresh, gourmet coffee beans imported from South America - no instant coffee here!

Nonetheless, I was in awe by this car. It really is something else. Very nice to see how well it has been cared for.

Two questions, though: 1) Is it a repaint or original paint? I know it's unlikely to be original but I thought I would ask. 2) Has it been professionally restored? I don't know if its possible for it not to be, but it would be really neat if it was completely original.

VorteX thanks,

Holden, it has been repainted, there were a few runs as well as low points in the white that were almost transparent, but it is also clear coated...

It has been restored, but it's not a numbers matching restore like what you maybe talking about, it's not the origional paint colors or interior colors, and the steering wheel is custome as well as the engine. I think it's an old Vette engine modded out to about 475HP with power steering, power brakes and all that good stuff. Rims are different as well as the added side exhaust.:bigups

All origionals are very hard to come by, wait till you see the old 56 Corvette I'll be doing here in the next month or so, it's gorgous, I can't wait.
