300,000 Miles, and Showroom Clean...

Six-Speeder
I have owned this car since early 2003, and I bought it with 95,000 miles on it.

It's a 1994 Acura Legend LS coupe 6-speed. Still on the original engine, transmission, clutch, axles, exhaust, suspension (I have every receipt for every dollar spent on maintenance throughout the car's lifetime).

Recently had the roof, mirrors, hood, front fenders, and front bumper painted (fading and rock pitting consistent with age and mileage). All other paint is original.

This was the most involved detail I've ever done. Completely scrubbed and detailed undercarriage. Spent nearly an entire day on the engine, and a couple hours on the interior. I am currently using Meguiars Carnauba wax (step 3) along with a Mother's clay bar kit. Tires shined with Meguiar's Hot Shine and interior treated with Poorboys Natural Look.

The local Acura dealership is using the car as part of a high-mileage Service Department campaign, so it went into the showroom tonight.

Looking forward to the next 100,000 miles.[/QUOTE]

DAmn, that is sick for that kind of mileage--looks fantastic and I thought I keep my cars clean...

I LOVE that car! The coupe design is one of my favorites from Acura, it's too bad they're so rare(especially in 6 speed). My Accord has 214,XXX currently with no sign of stopping. Great find, I bet you enjoy it seeing as you've put 200,000 miles on it in @ 5 years. That's really neat that you're car is getting displayed. At my local Honda dealership they used to have an old 1970's N600 on display. Great job on keeping it in shape:xyxthumbs

Looks better then most cars that just came off the dealers lot.

Another reason why I have been so slow in trying to sell mine.

Looks awesome. Nice work on returning it to showroom condition.

I just hope it won't be sitting in there too long. I have seen way too many people that love to touch everything on showroom cars. You can probably expect to clean up a lot of fingerprints when you get it back.

Amazing....and it goes to show how many good miles there are when the owner/operator displays a some common sense and maintains a vehicle instead of neglecting it once it's north of 100k miles!

KEEP IT GOING !!

It is a pretty rare find (the 6MT was only offered from 1993-1995 when the Legend was discontinued).

You put a ton of miles on in 4 years.

Yeah I have. It's been mostly leisure. I've hit up 25 U.S. states, 3 Canadian provinces, and 2 Mexican states in this car. Best roadtrip so far? Fairbanks, Alaska in 2006. That was 8,000 miles round-trip from Phoenix.

Is Acura giving you a loaner?

No; I have a second car (1991 Honda Prelude 4WS). I've posted pics of it here as well.

are you a member of acura-legend.com?

Yeah, I'm on there with the same SN.

Garage-kept at least I bet?

Whenever possible, yes. This car has gotten me through 3 college degrees so it's seen its share of outside parking as well. It now gets garaged both at home and at work.

Thanks. It's not so much as a "return" to showroom, as I've maintained this car pretty close to this level throughout my ownership. It's been my baby for awhile now.

Right you are, Tom. Preventive maintenance and regular service pays off immensely. Here is the book of receipts I have on this Legend. It's never had even so much as an oil change that wasn't performed at the dealership.

THANKS everyone! I appreciate the comments.

Holy huge time warp, Bat Man!! That thing looks like it MAY have 10K on it. The seats, steering wheel and shift knob look almost unused. NICE!

lol @ time warp! :)

Forgot to mention, the seats were redone 4 years ago in custom Katzkin two-tone leather with embroidery, so they are not original to the car. I would recommend Katzkin with two enthusiastic thumbs up -- great fitment and quality.
