hahaha you typical porsche guys. :grinno: there is no comparison, and i will put money on the z06 beating the cayman in every category.
and i dont think anyone has mentioned that the 505 hp that it has been rated at is actual wheel HP and not at the crank. , so at the crank i would guess its more around 550-580.
Hahaha, typical Corvette guy, distilling everything to the numbers and categories.
Did you ever consider that there are other reasons to prefer one vehicle over another? I've been around Corvettes; for the last 17 years I've been a manager at a Chevrolet dealership. I've driven one or two during that time, including ZR1s, Z06s, Callaway twin turbos, and one of the Corvette Challenge cars from 1989. (I worked for Valley Chevrolet in '89, the Corvette Challenge Series Champions.) I think they're great cars. But if you gave me one I'd sell it and keep the money.
Same with the Porsche. I was a sales manager (of a different franchise, Lincoln-Mercury) in a Porsche dealership in '87 and '88. Great cars, but not for me. Sure, they've changed since then. I get my Mazda serviced at my old place of employment and I get to keep up on the cool German stuff. Love 'em, don't want 'em. I'd love to DRIVE one, but not OWN one.
No one
has to bow down to the Corvette God, no one
has to wish they were lucky enough to own a Corvette. Owning a 'Vette is easy; work hard, then write a check. And when you've reached that level, you understand what the money is worth, and you spend a little more time looking at and driving the cars than you do looking at the magazines and brochures. And when you spend the seat time, you get to know which one is right for you. Believe me, there are better sports cars that aren't as fast as the Corvette.
