They look like black oxide deck screws or something..
In the 2nd pic, did that one screw break off ??? Ay -Caramba !!!
Hope it is all mending well and the bones knit back..
On a happier note, you will probably never get through the Airport easily again..
And just in time, you are Benched for the Annual Turkey Bowl too...

There are 4 incisions but it's in a cast so I don't really know what it looks like. They take this cast off in 2 weeks and remove the staples and then re-cast it. I'll look at it then and maybe take a pic.

dude tell the truth, you twisted your ankle during a badminton tournament. :yikes:
now that's nasty. looks like they ran out of bone and had to screw into other screws to hold things together. hope everything heals up ok and you get back to motivating around again very soon. Godspeed my friend.

you do need to be a little more creative when anyone asks what happened. like " i injured it during a spec ops mission that i am not currently at liberty to discuss. you know, i could tell you but then i'd have to kill you kind of stuff".

Yikes Gearhead. That's rough. I understand your pain. My wife just had her second back surgery in 6 months 4 overall and it looks like you guys have some of the same hardware.
I can only say it will get much better.
I hope this will be your only trip to the rodeo. Take care of yourself, be patient.
