Zymol poor customer service

souveran and fuzion continue to be my go to pastes...

if prep is 95% of the look, why spend 2200 on a wax and only 40 bucks on a polish....hmmmm

I figured I'd get my vintage tub refilled 25 times over my life time. That makes the cost about 73 bucks per refill. Better price than souveran, and IMO, a better wax than souveran, too. The refill rights are also able to be willed to someone in your family after you die. So my son will never have to buy car wax. :getdown

Now where on this site did you hear someone to spray cold and half iced OID to make waxes pop? Dang that was probably me. Now one more, take some Meg #7 and put 2 drops on the finishing pad. Aout every 3rd section add two more drops.

When I use Vintage, I do it when I know I have at least 12 hours for my car to be parked. I do four total wipedowns. The first is, of course, to remove the wax residue. I do the second three hours later to get off any residual oils, and the haze that will sometimes develop. Wipedowns three and four are after the 12 hours is up. Wipedown three is just a quicky with a Eurow MF. Number four is spit polishing... spraying refrigerated distilled water on the paint and using it as a quick detailer. Not only does this make the surface shimmer and glow, but it also seems to "set" the wax, and increases it's durability. Vintage *really* likes to be spit shined with cold distilled water.

lbls1- Heh heh, let's see....four post-waxing wipedowns + crappy service when the refills are required...and that costs *how* much? ;) "Better off ..." indeed :chuckle:

But seriously, I hope you Vintage users get your refills. I can see this delay business being a genuine problem.

It was actually Jason at Zymol that told me about this over the phone when I initially ordered my cube. He spent about 20 minutes on the phone with me discussing official and un-official ways of using Vintage and HD-Cleanse. At the time, I was very impressed with their customer service. Now... not so much.

LoL, I just bought a bottle of #7 for the first time in yeeeeeears last week. I was planning on using it instead of RMG under the Vintage. The last time I used #7 was probably around 1994 or so, and it didn't go well. Hopefully get better results this time. Somewhere around here there's a thread by (I think) Mike Phillips on the proper way to use number 7. I just gotta find it.

When I apply Vintage, it seems like there's inevitably a few spots of RMG or HD-Cleanse (or whatever I was using as a pre-LSP under the Vintage) residue that I missed during the wipedown. One of the cool properties of Vintage is that it doesn't really matter if there's still glaze residue on the paint. Just apply the Vintage right over the residue. Works great. So I'm hoping that I can do this with the #7, as I haven't ever been able to get very good results with that stuff. I usually end up with a streaky mess.

Now if I can just get my stupid cube back...

Nah its never a problem for me Accumulator buddy.........Cause I'm the "Original Baller" that never hollers....lol

well.....at least it sounded funny typing it *heh heh*!

This whole thing with the cube turn around reminds me of when I was in Bangkok. I was single at the time with a bit of money to blow so my mates and I all stayed at Le Royal Meridian. Cost an absolute fortune to stay there, but our floor had the cocktail bar that was "free" between certain hours each night so it was worth it.

By the 3rd night when 11-12 thirsty blokes showed up to hit the free cocktails AGAIN it was amazing just how long it took to mix them up. By the 4th night we couldn't be F'ed sitting around for half an hour to receive a round of drinks so never went back.

They achieved their objective.

I have also been known to lay down a thin layer of ZV let it set about a hour and go back over it without removing. But yeah if we get our cubes back. I will say a prayer to the No.1 Braizillion Wax Gods. Zy-mol Gods are starting to P me off right now.

Turtle Wax pays Zymol royalties for using their name.

The inexpensive Zymol liquid cleaner/wax you find in discount stores is made by Turtle Wax under license from Zymol.

Hence the nickname around here, Zyrtlewax.

pc.

Really? I would of thought it more likely Zymol, using TW to get a foot-in-the-door in the OTC market.

Yep, I was aware of the cleaner-wax being TW, and also the Shampoo. The shampoo, I’m sure is the exact same product as the TW Platinum shampoo, sold here in the UK, for £1 less than the Zymol product.

Some years back, I remember Zymol taking TW to court, regarding TW allegedly cooking the books, over the number of units of the cleaner-wax and shampoo, being sold OTC.

So TW don't own a percentage of Zymol?

IF I had enough money I would buy every kind of wax in the world and build a house out of them. Every morning I could wake up and look at all of my waxes and then everything would seem right in the world. Also, every day the UPS truck would show up and hand me a different box with some wonderful new product in it.

This explains just how far my addiction to waxes has gotten. So if someone wants to and can afford to pay that much for Vintage I have nothing but love for them.

Did I ever tell you about my desire to build my vacation house out of MF's!!

:chuckle: :lol

this is why autopia and other detailing sites are so good. no way my g/f would see the humor nor honesty involved in that post. i may be the only one to say this, but i know i'm not the only one to feel this: i agree ;)

I guess I just won't spend any more money with Zymol since it seems their CS sucks. I know it's mostly about the product but what good is it if you can't even get it back, let alone an email/phone call response???

i don't understand some of these places. if you don't have good customer service, then you shouldn't be in business. customers is what makes you the $'s...

Just want to update that Dom @ Dodo helped me with my question :)

Gonna resend the email to Diane and see what she says though

I have never been able to get Diane to respond to an email. :nixweiss

I did finally get in touch with someone on the phone, though. He said my cube should be sent back by the end of this week. We'll see.

Shes answered to all my 2 emails I sent her so far. First one was about a cracked jar, and the second is the current one. So far a 50% chance of getting a decent answer lol :dance

Hope your cube ships out! I don't think I'll get Vintage until after the CS improves :chuckle:

Got a reply from Zymol Tech by David Dudek. He apologizes for taking so long to answer my question. Problem with this email was that it was a followup to let me know they got it. The full reply will be here by tomorrow from what he said :)

I look forward to it... I've often wondered if you could safely re-melt vintage.
