I have used ZFX for only one coat with good results. The mixture seemed easier to spread thin and see since the ZFX tints the polish blue. It also dried very quickly. When I was done applying it to the car, it was just about ready to be buffed off.
It also omits Z1, so every few coats you don't need to even worry about Z1, streaking, applying too heavy, and longer drying. After mastering Z1 it worked well for me, but it could be tricky at first fo the first time user that doesn't know exactly how thin to go.
I noticed a difference in gloss when I used it on my silver car and on my steel grey car. The funny thing is that the gloss just seems to get better like a week and 2 weeks later, after a wash or 2 with Z7. I can't explain it, but every time I wash the car (still) the gloss seems to improve. The car has not been detailed in a month, and after last weeks wash, I can honestly say it was the best it ever looked.
Here is a comparison pic......hard to tell.....plus different lighting,etc,etc.....but take it for what it is worth...........
