Zaino Anniversay

Well, it`s been a full decade since Zaino has added anything to the "What`s New" page of their website. The last entry was on February 7, 2007, when they were first to market with a WOWA sealant.

To be fair, since then they have introduced two microfiber towels, a foam applicator, and a (Grit Guard) bucket dolly.

Now, I`m not suggesting that a line has to have 37 products in it, or adding products for the sake of adding products, but c`mon Sal, you were the first with a WOWA sealant, yet you`ve missed the boat on coatings, rinseless washes, and...well, that would be enough.

Oh, and it`s now about two decades since people started buying things on the internet, but us people in NJ, who are stuck here because we can`t get across the GW Bridge (long story, ask Chris Christie), STILL can`t order from your website. I know you "have distributor agreements from...before the internet" but it`s about time you renegotiated them...surely software today can credit your NJ distributor for NJ sales in a way that will be credible to him. Besides, I can`t even go to Shore Motorsports anymore. (Not that Carl Voellm isn`t a great guy, it`s just not as convenient to order from him as it would be from zainostore)

I still have all my Zaino products from a dozen years ago, and they`re all fine, except my ZFX finally dried up, and I used up the lemon tire dressing.

When I joined this forum in 2004, we had the Klasse/Perfect Shine advocates, the Zaino Zealots, and a small minority of "everybody else". That quickly changed as the effect of the internet and forums really took hold coupled along the way with a lot of new product technology. Zaino always had a solid line of products, the questions about their similarity to other lines aside, and although they didn`t advocate polishing clearcoat, they did eventually come out with a very nice fine polish. But the sweeping changes we`ve seen in the last 10 years seem to have left Zaino behind, both from a product standpoint and forum visibility.

I credit Zaino for my addiction to shine and ability to apply THIN layers- yet I somehow forgot how to do that over the years, haha

The stuff still is good you do however think he would have come up with some new stuff even if it wasn`t any better just to sell more stuff and make more money.

I started using zaino in 98 or 99. I bought some more last year I think it was. I still like it there is just so much stuff out there that tempts us each day with stellar reviews we just talk ourselves into it even though it`s typically not much if any better some is even worse

Well, thank you but this was just an anniversary visit until the snow stops. This site seems to be more about politics (PBMG or otherwise) and other things than about detailing anymore.

Pretty much a Zaino zealot from 2004 up until last year when I got involved in all this stuff. Clay, Zaino a few times a summer...stuff was the stuff back when it came out, especially for the Corvette crowd. I still have a bunch on my shelf...still like the leather conditioner. Funny when Spring used to roll around and I`d get their $80 kit and think "Wow, that`s a lot to spend to keep a car shiny!"

Ah, the good ol` days...

I dunno about Zaino becoming forgotten history...I still like the ZAIO (still miss the old Z16 too).

I want to like the ZAIO...but it never seems to work out for me. You miss the old (white/lemon) Z16? Order up a bottle of Duragloss 253; I can`t tell the difference and it even comes in a spray bottle.

Zaino isn`t alone. Finish Kare and Collinite pretty much sit back and rely on their back catalog, but a lot of us love those products and talk about them. Zaino, not so much talk as nostalgia. Same with Zymol.

Yeah, I like the ZAIO but no it doesn`t do any correction for me and/but it is too harsh for use on exterior plastics. Like it anyhow.

And yeah#2, that white/lemon version of Z16 is the one I like, still have a bottle or two left. And yeah#3 I figured the Duragloss would be a good substitute if/when I finally need something new (using up gallons of other Tire Slime products, only use the Z16 on my good stuff which hardly ever gets driven).
