Yellow LC pads obsolete?

Certainly don't have to worry about "curbing" the rims anymore, just hope those little pesky Geo's get the hell outta my way!

Did you get cruise control, leather, automatic climate control? I am sure you picked up the optional "Osama Destroyer" package. :)

P.S.-- Go with the Desert Tan Clearcoat, it show less swirls :p

Hey Rip,

what do you use to clean the rims and how long does it take ?

Since the advent of the "Kevin Brown Method" and the introduction of SMAT technology in Meguiar's new compound/polishes, I find myself being able to polish my vehicles to near LSP readiness by just using the orange LC pads. That being said, I still have a few brand new and unopened yellow LC pads (along with a purple Kompressor pad) that seem to be just taking up space. Does anybody still use those pads? I'm curious to know what kind of situation would still call for the cut a yellow pad provides.

I haven't used Yellow LC since the first time I tried PFW. I don't know if KBM or 105/Orange obsoleted the yellows but in my case PFW sure did. I've got some new unopened Yellow LCs in various sizes gathering dust as well. Wanna trade?

I have 3 LC Yellow pads. I used one once. Orange pads are exactly the same in my estimation. (So I guess I can use my yellows just the same as oranges.....:D)

I can't remember the last time I used a yellow pad and like others I have a bunch. I did use them but like TL and Angelo mentioned I now grab a PFW instead.

Maybe I'll cut some up and make some tire dressing applicators!

PFW??? It may be just that it's late, but help me out here. :P

Lake Country Purple Foamed Wool. Can cut aggressively but they're soft and don't mar nearly as bad as the yellow. I lightened up the pressure and finished a white car with M105 and PFW after using it to take out some pretty serious scratches that *probably* shoulda been wet sanded.

Really? The pores are the yellow pad are huge, you can feel them when you run your hand over it... not the case with the orange, higher PPI pad

Ah, I see. Thanks, TL...I haven't had a chance to try them. However, like others, I have a decent amount of yellow's hanging around!
