Rat Cannon? - now I'm interested. I remember the Northern Exposure episode about the trebouchet (sp? - it's a french mideval giant catapault for tossing stuff).

Is a rat cannon more fun that that? I could do one of those for fun over the holidays.

Xylene may in fact be a musical instrument, but I play the trumpet and my daughter the clarinet. Those I can spell.

Except for being a chemical, I don't know what Zylene is myself. I can look it up in a chemists dictionary, or do a google search, but for the most part it doesn’t much interest me.

If it's in a product manufactured by a reputable company, then chances are it's useful, and to some degree safe for the component its intended to be used on.

Also, with the appropriate safety gear it must be somewhat safe for humans to use.

All and all it's kind of boring though.

I take offense to that statement as I sell Xylene for a living (I agree that this thread was quit boring and worthless). I would probably not feel offended if you send me a free bottle of NXT.:D

Just joking.

You're a class act for coming on here and apologizing. Meguiars is a class organization and you represent them well.:xyxthumbs

I recived this from 3M rep;

Used as directed, 3M Adhesive & Tar Remover with Xylene is safe for use

on

automotive painted surfaces. It has been thoroughly tested on

automotive

paints, and sold to professionals and do-it-yourselfers for over

twenty

years without problems. I am sure that this represents tens of

thousands

of customers using 3M Adhesive & Tar Remover on literally millions of

cars. I do not know why "autoint" says that xylene is bad for paint.

Perhaps they are basing their conclusions on some rather extreme

circumstances that are not typically seen when cleaning a vehicle.

However, I am sure that if you use 3M Adhesive & Tar Remover with a

soft

cloth to remove the adhesive residue from a dealership sticker on the

tailgate of your truck, or tar spatters from the rocker panels of your

car

after driving on a freshly paved road, the most damage that will occur

is

removing the wax from the paint surface or causing very fine scratches

from

the fibers in the cloth.

I hope that this addresses your concerns, and thank You for your

interest

in and use of 3M products.
