In my opinion, it comes down to semantics, and the literal interpretation of such, i.e.: the "feeding" of oils into the paint. A more correct description would probably be the feeding (poor choice of words, but "dispersion", which more accurate, doesn't sound near as good) of the oils (in a glaze) ONTO the paint surface.

I would agree with the above statement.

It's semantics. I like Forrests description.

It does contain Trade Secret oils though! ;)

You know BW...

If you had your own successful business, you would just post all your secrets out in the open for all to see.

Right?

(sure you would)

Especially since he hasn't smelled it. I have and am just now recovering.

I take that to mean you didn't like the way it smelled?

So far, most the people I have dealt with like the way it smells. Not all, but most.

In an enclosed garage, after applying it to the entire car, the entire garage smells like the wax and to me... it smells good.

You can't please all of the people all of the time, but sometimes you can get close.

Don't ask me; I'm clueless why they'd do such a thing if it were true. :nixweiss

I really appreciate the people on Autopia that add to the community. I don't appreciate those who take away from it.

Have a good day BW...

Mike,

Don't get all bent out of shape. We're just having a laugh at the tail end of one of the stupidest threads in a long time. I'm just tagging along for kicks. The stuff you showed me smelled fine.

There's a joke in here. But it takes a sense of humor to find it. Reading all the posts in this thread is documented proof that not everyone has a sense of humor. I mean, crikey, this thread is about flippin' Xylene. Why there are 5 pages of posts discussing xylene is one of the funniest and dumbest things I've read lately on the internet. Hence the need for a laugh.

Take it easy, bro.

I thought the cow stuff was funnier than Xylene. Heck, I can't even spell Xylene without looking back at the posts.

I know how to spell cow.

Hey BW,

I read your PM, and then re-read the entire thread. I feel as though I have mis-read you.

I apologize.

Instead of deleting, or editing my original post, I have left it intact because I believe in being honest on public forums such as these.

I have been involved in other threads where a person in the thread has posted something, gotten the response they wanted from another person, and then edited their previous message. This has the effect of skewing the context of their original post.

I'm not going to do that.

I apologize for inferring that you don't add to the community. This was not only wrong and unprofessional, it was mean.

I apologize again.

I've been posting to the Internet for 10 years, and I thought I had learned my lessons about good netiquette in the past. Looks like I'm still a Newbie.

In an effort to show you my sincerity, I would be willing to send you a car care product of your choice. Not out of Meguiar's pocket, (Which I have a samples account), but out of my own pocket.

Hi Bret,

Yeah I'm not sure what I was thinking. I guess after reading some of the things good old Ray wrote on another thread, I started feeling somewhat defensive.

That's my mistake.

There was a episode on Titus, where Ed Begley Jr. played a psychotherapist, (I think).

In this episode, Ed Begley Jr. used a phrase over and over again which was funny because it was a method of, turning the tables, on the person he was dealing with. Here’s the phrase,

What’s broken inside of you?

I like to use this in the office as a sort of joke, but sometimes I have to ask myself…

What’s broken inside of me?

Anyway… point well taken Bret.

Xylene…. Isn’t that a musical instrument?

Mike

Mike, you didnt actually insult me personally but I was completely offended by your response and outraged by your misunderstanding!

I'll take a bottle of NXT.....ups ground will be fine.

Except for being a chemical, I don't know what Zylene is myself. I can look it up in a chemists dictionary, or do a google search, but for the most part it doesn’t much interest me.

If it's in a product manufactured by a reputable company, then chances are it's useful, and to some degree safe for the component its intended to be used on.

Also, with the appropriate safety gear it must be somewhat safe for humans to use.

All and all it's kind of boring though.

You know... you take three days off and get away from a computer, and it's as though I just discovered, Window 3.1

(Don't even ask me what my first computer was)

By the way... since you brought up Cows... did I ever tell you about Rat Cannon?
