Wow, almost looks psychedelic. :p

Yea, my eyes were going like this guy's after looking at it for a while:

Zorro did it!!! Not the first time you are going see that, and not the last. That pad should be thrown out and the detailer banished from buffing. Maybe some classes for that person.

I don't think you could do worse if you tried... :wow:

I agree. I've done tons of bodywork over the years and I really wonder how this happens. Did he use a crusty old pad? Was it dirty? Forgot to use a polishing pad on his backing plate but used a glaze with lots of fillers so it looked good when he walked away but then washed out later? Bad lighting? Forgot to wear his eyeglasses? It really boggles my mind.

We see many threads on what to do in a process. How about some threads about what NOT to do in your process? I'm sure newbie's can benefit a lot.

The hack that did it probably did a great job of covering it up with a heavy glaze. It's pretty easy to hide that kind of hollogramming with a glaze. Of course after a wash or two, the glaze is gone and you're left with what you see in the pictures.

That's what I was thinking when I made my "forgot the pad on the backing plate" joke.

He probably used a 20 year old twisted wool pad that has never been washed. Probably still has compound residue in it from 10 years ago.

I bet it looked pretty good when he got done with it... My buddy's dad buffed one of his for sale cars with some cheapie product and a wool pad - it looked passable when he got done, but 2 weeks later it looked a lot like that.

Same with my uncle. I think my uncle was using some old-*** bottle of 3M.

Goes to show that you should rewash with prepsol before you inspect and wax it :).

Hmmm. Thread title "Worst rotary work... EVER!" Surely it can't be that bad; I mean, we've seen some pretty butchered cars on Autopia. I'll just click and take a look.

OH GOD MY EYES! MY EYES!

Sweet something of somewhere. Someone did that to the paint on purpose.

You guys are killing me here. That is so F... funny. That is a good pic, I'm going to save that pic so when customers ask me why I can't do a Expedition for $200 I'll just show them that pic. Great post.

DO NOT DRINK and Buffer with a rotary . That is funny and sick at the same time . I will never complaint about a bad hollogram again .

LMAO!!!

best post in this thread hands down...hahaha

this is terrible rotary work. I saw a taxi like that the other day, I couldn't look at it for more than 2 seconds without feeling like I want to throw up.
