Wolf's Body Wrap

Looking for some reviews and experience with this product. Seems like a nice product, looks like it beads like crazy. One thing I seem to keep hearing is that you only want to use their nano products with it. That included their QD, shampoo ect. Ive read using something as simple as a non nano QD will clog the pores and mess with the bond. Sounds kinda like a PITA. Input to this?

I've been reading about this quite a bit, I'm really interested in this product for a DD. Jesse from Wolf's posts actively on a few forums, and wolf's has a forum as well.

Here is what I've READ (not personally experienced, take FWIW):

- Product lasts 6mos-1yr
- Car has to be uber-clean prior to application
- They recommend their Shine and Seal product as a cleaner and prep product
- Can not be removed with APC, must be polished off or wear off naturally
- They do not recommend topping or mixing with other products
- They highly recommend using their NANO shampoo
- Their QD should be used to "refresh" the coating, but should not be used immediately after application of the wrap

I'm interested in it but my concerns are similar to yours:
- must use NANO-shampoo
- must use their QD, but can't really use it for all the things I currently use a QD for (like drying aid, the QD is more like a spray wax)
- some finicky things about the NANO stuff, not a lot of knowledge or documentation out there
- I don't like that I can't top it with a carnuba (yet they say their QD contains carnuba which is confusing)
- if I don't like or want to try something new I have to polish it off

I ordered the rim sealant to try out.

i have been using it about 8 weeks i guess now...love it still beads 90% of what it did at first. is still slick though not as much as when i first applied. for the 1st 2 weeks it was as slick as a brand new coat of bfwd. and it slowly diminished from there but no where near as much as other sealants i have used (mpl bfwd aghd js109) i have been washing with gold class b/c i wanted to wash to see how it does with a shampoo my clients would use.

i was using power lock mostly before this and its very slick but does not have that soft feeling that power lock does. it sheets amazingly after using the flood method on my tahoes hood i may have 10 drops of water to blot. when rained on the beads are huge and gather in size until they run off .

amazing sealant i have some video of it sheeting after about 6 weeks i will try to post them up

I've used it a few times after hearing good things about it from Keith (IOMCAMARO) and so far I'm loving it. Remember guys, Cquartz recommends using shampoos that don't have gloss enhancers as well for their coating, they just don't happen to sell their own ....yet.

The best part about this is that instead of having to do wipedowns or additional washes, you can quickly go over a car with shine and seal and it is prepped for the Bodywrap application. Shine and seal comes in a five ounce bottle, but you can do an entire hood with two drops, so a little goes a very very long way. Same with the bodywrap itself. A few drops will spread over pretty much any panel. Best of all it removes just like a sealant. You don't have to do any excessive buffing, like with CQ, to get this product to remove.

I've only been using it for a couple months so I can't comment on durability, but so far the look, slickness, and ease of washing is amazing. Not to mention their shampoo isn't terribly expensive. You get 1000ml for about $20, and the dillution ratio is pretty good as well.

All in all I think it's worth using a special shampoo since BW seems to offer something that no other product does. The ease of use of a sealant, but the durability of a nano product.

I have been using it as well along with other Wolf's products and it is a good product. The only thing that spoils me is I am used to the longevity of C1 and how that system works and in comparison it does not match it. However, if used as a replacement for a standard sealant (the does require a bit more attention after its put on) its fantastic. Sheets water like a nano coating, and makes cleaning the cars a breeze and feels like it adds some extra protection to the paint to help prevent light marring.

Longevity wise, I have had it on a DD in FL for about 6 months now and its starting to loose its beading, but not to the point of needing re-application. It is just not as strong as it used to be, but protection is still very well there. (as the water still sheets off pretty quickly)

Really good stuff.

Dave, thanks for your thoughts. I have watched this product closely and have not decided to pull the trigger on it yet. I have been comparing it to other nano coating and find that the durability is lacking. But when compared to other standard sealants it seems to be ahead of the curve. The one thing I don't care for is the fact that to get the full effect you have to buy into the whole system. But there are many of these new product and coating that are really trying to sell a whole system. It just makes it hard when I already have to much stuff. If it is really that easy to use I may consider picking this up since I am at the end of my Menz PL.

I have read a lot about it too, and the lack of durbability for some people. My personal opinion is that it got talked up WAY to much on some sites as being some sort of super product that lasts forever but is easy to apply. I think if you go in not thinking that, you will come out on top. Also I think some people fail to clean the paint as well as they are suppose to with this product, and that is why I love shine and seal so much, since I know all the paint is ready for bodywrap.

As for the "system" I will agree that it can be a little scary, but for the price of these products compared to others on the market :cough: Cquartz:cough: I personally think it's well worth it.

Or it's a good way to sell you more of their stuff. I've never heard of anyone using it.

Part of it is because they don't have much of a presence in the US market (I think they only have one reseller in the US in Detailer's Domain), but the product is very well-thought of in the UK - it recently won as Detailing World's 2011 protection product of the year (voted on by the members of the forum). Lots of users, and reviews, of it over there.

I'd prefer to use one of the coatings that has real durability. I'm not into having to use certain shampoos to get it to work and all that.

Coatings should hold up to more and make things easier. Not less... I'll pass based on the durability lacking reports I've heard from a couple friends. I know that's a bit ignorant sounding since I haven't used it myself but I just have no need to try another coating right now. Hell, I have C1 on my shelf now I need to get to!

Opticoat and Cquartz... I have used both of these and I know they last and I don't have to do anything extra to make them do the job they are supposed to.

Both are excellent tools

Sounds like it has equal good and bad qualities. Longevity isnt important to me, I like to take care of my car. Clients cars get Opt coated. I wanted this for the looks, but if it looks like 90% of other sealants I think Ill pass. I can get 6+ mounts out of 845 or Duragloss products. Esp. when topping with spray waxes.

No one asked you...LMFAO jk :rofl

I think Im going to hold off buying this, I have so many other products that I use and want to try esp. the new BF line. If I coat one of my personal vehicles in this then Im stuck using only Wolfs stuff. Not that its bad, I just dont want to settle yet! This BF better be good, Im passing up a great deal on a Wolfs kit!

Kinda tough putting this on someones car and having them maintain it with a special shampoo. Might be ok for a personal vehicle tho. I have also heard if you don't use their nano shampoo, that it doesn't last. So how durable is it really??? The dirt and dust that land on it won't be made by Wolf's Chemicals so I bet that will drastically reduce it's life.

i agree it would be tough for a customer. I'm still testing it on my car. My confusion is that APC won't break it down but regular soaps will? I just don't get it.
