Wisconsin / Illinois Meet

blue-sun

You have mail:D

PrinzII I am not surprised at all that none of them e-mailed you. I'm glad we made the e-mail to get signed up mandatory. Just cuts the people that can't commit to something.

Well, I'm still in because I really want to learn how to become more efficient with my detailing processes. And it wouldn't hurt to see a few nice cars too! :D

I'm glad to see we have 13 people signed up for the meet now. It should be a great event.

I hope to have my new wheels/tires on by April 9th. I need to do a couple details before I'll have the money for the new tires though.

I am trying to get an agenda togther, but I need input from some of the key people involved with this (the pro's, and our rep). At this point in time I have a list of people an idea, but no agenda.

INPUT IS NICE

As I showed in the Excel file, I am interested in touching-up some paint chips in my car. I have a couple on the plastic rear bumper, which require certain steps to make sure the paint remains adhered to the plastic when it flexes during normal driving.

There are also a couple of spots where my paint cracked on the front passenger side fender, where I touched them up way back before I was an Autopian. I would like to redo these touch-ups if possible.

You have given me info, what I think needs to happen at this point is figure out if we want to spend 1 hour or 2 hours on the rotary, 1 or 2 hours on the PC. Do we want to do a full detail on a car--8 hours. Try to cover wet sanding 2 hours, etc, etc, etc. As you can see the hours could well exceed a day.

I would like to cover everything, that everyone has suggested. I'm not sure it is possible or feasable. I know you want to fix or learn how to fix your bumper. I need to talk to the pro's and find out if they know how to do that. I don't know if they do that kind of detailing. When I find out I will certainly let you know. I will be doing that for everyone that replied about a request. I need to find out if it is possible.

Do we want to cover the business aspect of detailing? How about engine detailing? Do we want to cover pad and type and differences? How about product demo's? How about hands on stuff like differences in MF from Pooryboy's to Winners Circle. How about business detailing forms? How about lunch? Dinner? How much time do we want to allow? I can keep going.

The two pro's and the one man. rep. that is coming will be the teachers. The rep. said he can do some demonstrations. How much time to allow? These are the things I am looking for input on.

Lets put it this way, in the end I either look like a hero or a zero. It all depends on how the day goes. If it's a success then I am a hero. If not well then a zero. I don't want to look like a zero either.

Thanks

Any of those suggestions are OK by me. I will get there whenever we decide, and I will stay as long as the shop owner wants to keep us!

I'd just like to point out that the Virginia meet > the WI/IL meet.

We're better because we have an ocean.

:p

I'd just like to point out that we have a date and location set up, and over a dozen members attending so far. :wavey

5 more weeks from tomorrow! :)

Paul, I'd like to point out that...

My street hasn't been covered in snow this winter.

The right coast is for cool people  You're just jealous of our beaches :p

I wonder if I should try to make it to your meet. Paul, you owe me a jar of Paste Glaz.

That's OK. I like drifting in the snow. And getting nearly stuck in a few inches of snow due to my "all-season" performance tires.

The Lake Michigan / Lake Superior shorelines are plenty for me. All I need is somewhere to take the kayak on a hot day.

I owe you a jar of Paste Glaz? Are you confusing this with the #16 I "owe" you? My Paste Glaz is my most cherished detailing item. In fact, I just brought it out tonight to apply another coat to the Max. :D
