Who makes Zaino?

Fortunately, I don't have to listen to anybody if I choose not to. That's one of the great things about "freedom of speech", I'm also free to ignore what ever I choose to ignore.
As far as the cost factor, wouldn't being happy with a product include being happy with the cost of that product?
As far as the ones that "pound a product into the ground", that happens to be a perfect example of those I choose to ignore.

Charles

Kind of hard to ignore the Zaino cult sometimes.

You ask does being happy with a product include cost? Well if you were using product X and were ordering on line and it was doing what you wanted of it and you were happy would you still be happy if I told you that the same product could be purchased for half the price down the street under a different name? If you answer yes I have some land for sale for you at a real good price.:howdy

For all we'll ever know, Zaino could be made by Dwayne, and Sal is just a ficticious name. Maybe that would explain Dwaynes not so recent appearances on DC as much as before.:howdy

I'm still here. I don't know how to make any kind of wax polish or sealant though so can't take any credit like that. Just been busy with work and life in general.

Later,

Dwayne

There is a difference between who manufacturers it and the formulas being the same.

I don't think that this should turn into a witchhunt, which has happened in the past with other people making assumptions.

I'm glad you're still hanging around... May not know how to make a wax, but sure as hell know how to make a webforum don't you.

Hope everything is going fine for you and your family...

:rofl :rofl :rofl Anthony, you already got me to try Collinite IW which I couldn't buy locally and paid $20 for including shipping.
Am I supposed to be unhappy about that?
When you consider how long a container of product lasts, the cost per use becomes pretty much a nonfactor to everyone but a professional detailer. Actually, I think even some of the pros are more product cost conscious than need be. The amount of product used in a detail is a pretty small part of the overall cost. I realize that every item needs to be taken into account, but the difference between even P21S and S100 doesn't amount to much when spread over the 50 cars a jar will probably do. P21S, $32 - S100, $16. That $16 extra for 50 cars is 32 cents per car. Skip one Mountain Dew and you save enough to use the "more expensive" product on 3 or 4 cars.

Well I am going to assume that the answer is no Zaino does not make their products. If they did you can bet the cult would be shoving that down your throat every opportunity they had. There would be people who have visited the manufacturing facility and we would know about that by know. So now we just need to find out who makes it and how different it really is.

I started this thread mainly because Duragloss has suddenly become the hot brand out of no where. Makes me laugh because people act like it's a big discovery when in fact these products have been right under your noses for years. I have been using the car wash for a while before Duragloss became hot. I know they make there own stuff and it is very good. I am hearing they make products for other brands to and of the similarities between it and Zaino. Just has me curious.

Well it's unfortunate that you couldn't get IW local. I get it in Niagara Falls NY for $11.00.:D

Charles I agree with you that the actual cost when you work it out is really not a big deal when you consider how long a container lasts. It's the principle though for me. I can't see buying P21S when the local cycle shop is selling S100 for cheaper and I can walk in and get it. I guess it annoys me the little marketing games that are played.

Is that where the land is located? Maybe I could look at it when I pick up some more IW.:)

That marketing is what makes the world go around, though.
The P21S/S100 thing is a weird one. If they are indeed the same product, why would they price the S100 at 1/2 of the P21S. I might cut it 20% or so, but 50%? Other than the carnauba wax, I don't think their other products are that far apart in pricing.

We all know what happens when one assumes :D.

Charles I'm sure you have heard of Love Canal. :)

As for the P21S/S100 that is my point exactly. I have used many of the products from both those lines and they are absolutely identical. It's pure marketing BS. Why pay twice as much for P21S? Makes no sense to me no matter how much some one likes it. The containers the smell and color and performance are identical. They don't even make an effort to disguise this. They simply put S100 on one and P21S on the other.

I would welcome some one to shoot down that assumption with some facts. Like where Sal makes the Zaino. What state, or country for that matter, does he have the factory.

You want to go see where Collinite is made? Go to Utica NY and see the factory for your self. No big secret there. No BS either from these guys. Talk to them on the phone and they openly admit the 476S Super Double Coat is the exact same wax as Fleet Wax and that several of their products are repacked versions of others they make. One sold for automotive the other for marine.

I remember back when I was active on Autopia that someone went on a pilgramage to the Zaino homeland and posted pictures. It's going to be in a thread that is four years old, but it is in there somewhere. I care far to little to go through the effort of even logging in over there to check....

Are you saying there are pictures of the factory? I am not saying there isn't one just trying to confirm if there is one. If you could do that than that would be great. As of now I can only assume there isn't.

Anthony it seems that you have something against Zaino.
If you wish to know that badly then call Sal and ask him. If he doesn't tell you thats his business. but I think that this is now beating a dead horse

Nothing against Zaino. As I have stated earlier I have been hearing a lot about comparisons between Zaino and Duragloss and I know Duragloss makes their own products. Haven't seen any evidence at all that Zaino does so I am curious. Also my dislike for marketing BS motivates me to dig into who makes what. I like to be informed about the games people play to try and get my money. In case you missed it I have been highly critical of S100/P21S in this thread not just Zaino.
