Which Wax at Car Show ???

AMP99

I finished late at night with the moose wax & followed it with the Quick Shine. The day of the show I just drove there & did not use any QD...perhaps should have...

ClearKote Quick Shine is killer and seems to darken the color of the car. Can use on top of anything (syn or carb)...great stuff.

Have Crystal Mist...not used it yet.

The only thing that may be a drawback about moose wax and the petro content....I just found some pads that were soaking in water from Sat and even when you wring them out...smells like pure petro / gas.... don't know what long term use would be on paint, if u know what I mean....

oh my wow... those cars look niiiice... were these using JUST carnauba or was it a topper over a polymer (klasse/zaino/liquid glass/Meg's #20/etc.?)

F 355,

Thanks for the quick reply! I think I will try some of the Quick Shine for sure since I really like my jet black paint to be as dark as it can be. Plus I can use it on Carnauba or a sealant.

Thanks again. :xyxthumbs

Cheers,

My Black 7 Series

I've been using Quik Shine since last 6/02. I have found that it does darken the paint somewhat. QS has no wax and no silicone in it. Similar to Meguiar's FI.

What affect does Pinnacle's Crystal Mist, which has carnauba in it, have on a car's paint? Is it compatible with say P21S wax?

F355,

Thanks for great pics!

I can't believe how "outdated" Diablo looks compared to Murcielago. Both are dream cars !

What's with the paint scheme on one of the cars(pic#3 by silver Murcielago)?!:nixweiss

I think what made these cars look good is that they are Lambos. Turtle wax could not have stoped these cars from looking outstanding.

Nice pics !!!

I think most cars prepped for a show are glazed and filled more than anything. Thats what most people do for a "Queen for a day"

The black lambo was wet sanded first. The guy who did it is going to come over my house this week and we are going to do my car together.....

:up

The Lambos I've detailed already had glass smooth, orange peel free paint. Wet sanding would be overkill on those cars. Maybe the paint on the black one wasn't 100% perfect from the factory.

Ferraris don't have a lot of orange peel either, but if you can afford it to get a perfectly flat paint job, go for it!

you got any pics of that car to the right of the murcielago? (the left most car in the pic) it's.... interesting. =)

if i saw that car on the street, the first thing i'd think is "whoah, what's he got painted on there..." and then after that, i'd realize what i'm looking at, and i'd think, "holy crap! that's a diablo!"

I think this might of been posted on this board already, but check out

There is a site that has pics of DeLoreans all done up like that. Some on monster truck wheels, some riced out like Civics, some chrome plated, some cartoon painted.... It just went on and on. Some people have no respect for beauty. But then again, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I just think it goes to show that the blind shouldn't be allowed to own a Lamborghini or a DeLorean. :p
