I know, and totally understand. I won't :cry: about it or anything. If you told me, I'd tell someone, and they'd tell someone and the whole thing would become something it's not. :nono We'll just all stay cool and Autopia will roll on.

yeah Scott nice call on keeping it to yourself...who knows what to think about this at this point..my question is that if it is every brought to light, is it going to be public knowledge?

While I never had a problem with Todd at all, his posts were beautiful, I want to know what all of the consumer-advocate white knights are up to now?

The little birdy on my shoulder thinks that the person you talked to know is probably the same person who is behind most all of this. I would even wager that this person has a personal vendetta against Todd and has been banned several times from this forum for having multiple accounts. I could be wrong, but I wonder what your inside source is considering that Todd doesn't know what is going on. Smells like a set up out of jealousy too me.





If there was proof that Todd was a shill for any company he would be banned already. Instead some assumptions made by somebody else has lead to a witch chase through Todd's threads. I guess they will determine if Todd has made too many posts using CMA products like Blackfire, which is sold by forum vendor Detailed Image. Perhaps, it is Todd's constantt praising of M105 and M205 on autopia, which is guaranteed to help vendors that sell these products like ADS or Autogeek. How can somebody be a shill when they recommend products sold by forum vendors. Meguiars, P21s, Blackfire, Zaino, Danase Wet Glaze, Dodo Juice, Werkstatt, and Collonite. CMA doesn't sell Collonite but their shill claims to be one the best waxes out there.

Good and valid. It's tough being in the spotlight, every move you make is scrutinized.



But we dont know what he is being accused of yet. Being a schill really isnt that bad if the products work as "schilled"...
 
Wait... I thought the banning was the result of several non-constructive posts, from a variety of user accounts, all originating from the same IP (presumably his)?



If this was all about "shilling" then I think this is all waaaaaaaaaaaaay overblown. I think most of the resident pros here have earned the right to shill a bit here and there. :)



However, if someone was purposely causing discord, then DavidB had to act in a manner that he deemed best for the community.



Regardless, the situation is unfortunate. I have faith that David will handle the situation appropriately.
 
drama drama... there is plenty of that on this board. it seems to me that Mr. Helm has been in the center of 90% of them too... maybe he is a drama queen! :laugh:
 
Call me confused here but Didn't DaveB say the suspected IP is coming from Tampa? Isn't todd from Orlando? And since there are quite a few other members from Tampa here I can't see the entire tampa area being banned right now. (which seem liked that was what was happening) And if there is someone from tampa causing all these issues are they now banned as well? Something else is really going on here.

No...but a former banned member "Brian Brice" is. It is my understanding that Brian and Todd are not on the best of terms.
 
I hope that at least Todd's posts can be restored for our viewing pleasures. Many of this threads/posts are great resources for people new in the world of proper auto care.

I don't think DavidB would take the steps he has based soley on what one person says.
 
I never in my wildest dream did I think detailing cars could cause soooo much drama LOL.



Ehh well Dosen't effect me so I'll bow out. Hopefully it gets worked out somehow.
