I just got off the phone with someone who shed a lot of light on the situation but I'll keep my mouth shut since I can't independently verify what was told to me. I do believe that DavidB was already aware of what I've heard. :nervous2:

I've now wasted a full day tracking IP addresses through multiple proxies outside the USA. It would seem that one or more individuals are having fun generating personal attention through multiple accounts.

The TH0001 threads will most likely not be visible again. I found in our access logs thousands of clicks on the same thread from the same IP address. Clicks were logged in rapid succession. The only purpose for doing this is to make a thread appear more popular than it really is. At a minimum, this is a total waste of server resources (and now my time).

Wow, that is truly embarrassing.

His posts will be missed, best of luck!

The door is open, NEXT.....

Losing the valuable information in many of Todd's posts hurts the Autopia community, not Todd. It seems foolish to lose so much knowledge.

I understand and appreciate your feedback. At the same time, I have a responsibility to the community to investigate the appearance of fraud and wrong doing.

I'm reading every thread. Looking at every photo. Evaluating anything that appears to be self serving.

Right now I'm curious why there was a sudden change in the products he promoted. Seems odd, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt while I figure it out.

So, while at first glance it may appear the community is loosing good information, wouldn't it be nice to know you're not having the wool pulled over your eyes?

By the way. I could be completely wrong here. If I am, I will make a public apology.

David, thanks for keeping everyone in the loop.(for the most part) ALOT of people are following this thread and are curious!

I trust the person I talked to today (he called me, I had no idea what was going on) and I guess you've heard a lot of what I have heard as well. It is a shame things appear to be as they are right now.

while I agree his wealth of knowledge and his detailing ability are top notch. lets all understand many other people are just as smart and know just as much. one man doesn't make or break this community.

I will miss his threads, and the like...but the community will go on.

Wasn't he banned from MOL? :nervous: Doesn't seem like a likely candidate to promote their products... ;)

I agree! to me these forums are about learning more, educating others, meeting great guys who share my passion, sharing my work. veiwing others, i can't believe such a place exsisted! lol this autopia is a detailers heaven. i built a few relationships with people on here that are unsurpassed! i have people call me for advice. i called others for advice. this to me is a place i would probaly pay to join! david please don't think about that! lol this place keep me in check and also gives me a place to unwind. it truely is my home away from my home almost lol! if your as passionate about this detailing stuff as me. you would understand! todd is an outstanding detailer! that is proven! but i think we all got so hyped up on his knowledge that we forget that there are others out there just as good as him! its obvious he cares to help others, he has helped me, at the same time we all make desicions that can affect us both personally and on a professional level! whether your a car enthusist or someone who does this full time! if what is said is true. that was todds choice not ours. all good things come to end adventually, my father always said its easier to fall off the ladder then it is to climb back up after the fall! maybe we can all take this into perspective and enjoy what thiis amazing internet site truley is! a great place to be a part off! and i wish todd the best off luck on his journey! thanks david b. you gave me something to be apart off!!

Obviously something is going on here that the masses aren't really allowed to know yet. I thought it was funny he was sales pitching Meguires like he did but it didn't affect me at all. The information Todd provided was great. Who cares what product he pushed? I never paid attention to it. I never cared what he used from week to week. It really had little to nothing at all to do with his details. remember in true detailing it's always 90% process and only 10% product. Todd showed the process to everyone. Some agreed with it some didn't but I don't think anyone could disagree with the final result. I think the only thing that would be damaging to Todd is to find out he wasn't the one detailing the cars. And Since there are vids of him doing that I don't see that ever being an issue. Weather I like him or not I've never seen anyone do a write up like him Not only did he tell us step by step what he did by he also told us WHY he did it. To loose that kind of information I think will be very damaging to this site. There are a lot of great detailers on here but I don't know of a single one anywhere close to being as thorough in his write ups as Todd was. And that's the key difference between "Bragging" and "Teaching"

Wether Todd gets back on or not is really not the point. The information he left for others to learn from is vital I think. I hope you can find a way to revive at least his C&B's for the rest of the forum to learn from. Seems like a daughting task considering the bits of info you've told us Dave. But I hope there's a chance.
