What does "soon" mean? That is equivalent to the statement "the check is in the mail". Why not just give us a date when the announcement will be made or even more simple, let us know who you represent. Either one would help to alleviate the tension that is just going to keep growing....
 
another thing was the autopia car care orders use to ship out of san diego california (which i liked as i would see my order the next day), but since it was taken over they now ship out of bradenton, florida...
 
Tension tension. I can cut it with a knife. I saw the news post about upgrading the forums maybe we will find out then

Maybe you should just relax and wait till the announcement is made. Statements like this are what is causing all the tension.

Why spend money shipping to a second location if it is made in Bradenton. I noticed Four Star is in Bradenton.
 
I guess all we can do is wish DaveB a happy new year ! He was indeed well informed on the likes of paint rejuvenation and detailing in general. He sure put his time in. Anyway these things are usually about revenue and how to generate it. It is about time invested verses revenue generated or vise versa. Daveb while I knew him a short time will be regarded as a gentleman, or may I say an informed gentleman. A true tribute to DaveB will be the knowledge documented for all to refer to on this site. So chin-up...shoulders back... and lets move on. After all I survived 38 years without DaveB because I did not know about this site until a couple of months ago.
 
as long as people keep posting tips i don't care who owns it. Let it be unbiased and free from silly public squabbles. I have been doing this for over ten years and forums help me grow as a professional.

That is ridiculous. I may not have the highest post count here but I have nearly 8 years invested in this place, have sent hundreds of people here and spent a lot of time trying to help others.



Questions come up about the ownership of Autopia which could affect the entire future of these boards and we hear NOTHING from anyone other than an anonymous figure that tells us that an announcement will be made. We hear nothing of when it will be made of even a hint of who they are.



That is what is causing the tension!!!!!!
 
You know, Bob, it was stated that ownership transferred in May 2009...so it's not like some horrible change has just happened (of course it could). We've had other big changes...from Autopia.com to Autopia.org, the advent of paid sponsors, major changes to the sponsors, etc., and the sky didn't fall. I'm not really getting the urgency or tension vibe like some of you, this kind of came up accidentally, since it wasn't the original topic of this thread. I have seen no changes to the moderators listed, and DavidB is still listed as a moderator of many forums, so I'm not sure why everybody is getting so excited.
 
Setec, you wouldn't happen to have a link to that announcement would you? Not sure how I missed such an important announcement, entirely possible though :)



Some of you may deal just fine with uncertainty, but I don't. To me all this just looks like someone is trying to figure out the best way to spin some bad news they know people don't want to hear :)



I don't believe there is anything wrong with wanting some answers. :nixweiss

I have seen that post and was aware of those changes.



I guess what is troubling to me is that this "new owner" has had 8 months to make some kind of announcement. Why are they still anonymous?????
