Yeah, I know. Night shots. I started it around quarter to 6. So it got dark. This wasn't a full detail, it was more of "fix my paint and I'll do the rest." Him and a group of 33 others from nyspeed.com are going down to Carlisle this weekend.

The car was really dirty. I don't know if Meguiars clay bar just stinks, but it wasn't getting the paint smooth. I had to go over the car 3 times to get it reasonably smooth. I offered to reclay (with claymagic!) and re-seal the paint for free, which seemed to placate the owner. It isn't bad, just not what I wanted to accomplish.
 
Looks good Corey, that is some serious rubber on that 330ci. How's your business coming along? Keep up the good work.
 
Thanks. :) I only did this car because he wanted it done before the show. Otherwise I'm holding off until school is finished (next week thursday, woo).

That was after...well....the second pass. I kept doing the trunk and it wouldn't get as smooth as I wanted it.

Yes. Clay Magic makes most clay bars now that they have won a bunch of lawsuits.



I don't think the problem was the clay but what appears to be horrendous amounts of contamination. BTW, the blue professional Meguiars bar seems a bit more aggressive than the white bar.
 
Corey, which Meg's clay is that? Is it the Quik Clay, or the new, um I think they call it Smooth Surface Clay which comes in two small bars? If it's the Smooth Surface, I think it's milder than the Quik Clay (which is no longer being made), that may have been the problem.

It was the new smooth surface. :(
 
The Meg's aggressive overspray clay (red bar) is just killer for heavily contaminated paints.

Its not an M3, its just really modded.. M3 hood, custom magnaflow exhaust, ESS supercharger and tons and tons more.. its a sweet ride.. Go steel gray!

Hm. I thought I heard a supercharger when he pulled it in to the garage. Who are you? :squint:
