What's up with Toyota White?

How bout you coming by my place on Thursday afternoon and I will let you borrow my DA with pads and compounds with polish you to work this weekend?

Wow! Thats a darn nice offer! Just to add you may be able to get away with an all in one, if she is just looking for a quick fix to trade it in. Saves you time and her money. OPT Poliseal comes to my mind first.

Nice offer Angelo. It's hard to find nicer people to help you out with stuff.

The paint does look oxidized. You can get it back looking good as new with a little work. Using a DA really isn't that hard. I'm sure Angelo can offer some help and tips also. Just do a little reading on here and you can get a good idea before you even put a machine in your hand

if I'm on the computer i check this site for new post about everything i kind of want to do my truck first to get it down a little my trucks not oxidized though

i need to get a used and abused hood from the junk yard to pratice on before i tackle it just in case something happens

You'll be fine, a DA is relatively harmless to learn on. Follow the tips Angelo gives you and you will be just fine.

Sweet offer! I wish there more detailers in Cali, all the pros seem to be out East!
If you buy your own DA, go with the Porter Cable 7424XP, I've been tinkering with mine and the polishing pad it came with and its very easy to use.

The polishing pad that comes with the PC from Porter Cable is not suitable for automotive paint. I hope you're not using it for that. Personally I would recommend the Griot's machine over the Porter Cable as I own both.....it's far stronger with a far better warranty. That's just my opinion but would be my recommendation for someone just getting into it.

thats the one ive been looking at good brand and fair price. i have a rotary but dont bring it out much no on my top of the list

probably have to start from the beginning of the detailers mantra.

wash
clay
polish
wax

and the DA would help.

good luck!

On SS paint clay isn't the best choice, paint cleaner to get the surface prep would be best. SS paint is much different in prep work than CC paint jobs. Especially if the SS paint has oxidation the clay will not glide across the surface like a clear coat
