Whats the best tire dressing?

Eagle One Wet Tire Shine

Meguiars Hot Shine

Armour All

With all of the great comments about Mothers FX it looks like something I will be giving a try very soon.

Scottwax,

What type of Armour All does not sling? Regular? Detailers? Professional? I ask since I have known Armour All to sling.

Thanks

My preferences are:

1. Zaino Z-16

2. Poorboy's Bold 'n Bright

3. Original Armor All

I've never tried Mothers FX, though. Looks like another thing to buy!!:D

Regular Armor All. Apply with a tire swipe and you should be good to go.

Poorboy's & recently Pinnacle Black Onyx gives an awesoem shine. In the rainy season i use Meguiars ( endurance high gloss Purplr Gel ) nothing beats it.

Bold N bright

Pinnacle Black Onyx

Meguiars Endurance high gloss.

Mothers FX tire shine is outstanding, but its sibling Mothers Reflections tire care is even better... If you have tried FX and like it, try reflections tire care. You will love it! :up

What is the difference between them? Just curious, as I will be trying the FX shortly!

Reflections has nicer smell (the best smell of any detailing product according to MY nose), and the look is more matte, blacker. Reflections looks the closest to new rubber. Same application, same durability. Mothers describes reflections tire care as "concours" look and I don't think they are too far off. :D

ahh, thank you for the clarification. I think I will probably like FX more only because I can appreciate a wetter/glossier tire on my car. For other cars, the Reflections might be more appropriate.

I'm really starting to like Meg's Endurance (matte finish). I applied it december 10th and since then it has received two scrubbings from a tire brush with car was detergent and several rain storms and it still looks as good as the day I put it on. If you want longevity, this is your product.

Heres what I like:

-Mequiars Endurance...its easy to get and really works well, apply as thin as possible

-Griots all weather tire dressing...its expensive and small ($16.00 for 8oz) but has a more natrual look which is something I prefer.

I've actually mixed the two together with good results!

I recently tried Optimum Tyre Shine and I have to say it's very good indeed. I was using BnB all the time but OTS has outlasted it by MILES, it goes on sort of like a gel spray, dries quick and leave a nice black satin shine on the tyre. After 3 weeks of winter weather it still looks as good as day one and the BnB on the other 3 tyres has vanished - excellent product.

.. I have a question about cleaning the wood grain interior in my car. I have Mercedes CL500 with alot of wood (including the steering wheel) and I want to be safe on the products I choose.

The wood has clear over it, pretty similar to the paint on the car but more fragile. If it's not too dirty (and it shouldn't be ;) ) I clean it with #34 on a very soft plush MF. If it's grungy I usually use Griot's Interior Cleaner on it, again with a very soft MF or maybe, if I *really* need to, a swab or a small BHB but you gotta watch for marring from the BHB. If/when it does get marred I use a mildly abrasive product like 1Z WaxPolishSoft, or more aggressive products as needed, to correct it. I finish my wood with wax, usually Souveran but I also use some 20 year old stuff (!) from Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories. As best I can tell, it's a mild cleaner wax made by Zymol.

So the short answer would be to treat it like high quality household furniture. Oh, and try to keep it out of the sun in hot weather ;)

Poorboys Bold-N-Bright looks great and zero sling (water based).

I agree...I like this better then Zaino's, which seems too "watered down" to me. I recently got a free sample of Wolfgangs tire dressing and was impressed with it as well

I clean the tyre first (with cheap car shampoo). And use SONAX tyre polish. After that I buffed it. It will make the tyre look deep black like brand new, the tyre shop people dont believe that my tires is 3 years old when i replace it :xyxthumbs

um, I like #38. It goes on very easily with an E1 swipe and after ten minutes I can knock it down a notch with a quick wipe. I actually prefer the sheen it has on most of the vehicle types I do work on, sport sedans, coupes, low profile/large wheels. On my weekly maintenance vehicles I can hit the tire with my PW and upon drying the wheel can re-swipe with an undressed swipe ( :o ) to bring the tire back to how I like it. Lastslongtime. No one else with me on the #38 wagon?
