What kind of detailing do you like to do?

Believe it or not, I detail as a form of relaxation. I can spend an entire day detailing one of our vehicles from top to bottom and inside and out. I've been doing this for 40 years and as time progressed my skills and ability have progressed along with it.

Generally speaking my vehicles are in pretty decent shape. This is my 1999 Dodge Dakota that I've owned since new. I detailed a week or so ago, not bad for 11 years old.

I've done some relics through the years that when I got done with them I didn't know what or who actually won but they looked great in the end!

I've never detailed for income but more for the enjoyment of turning an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan. It also got me lots of tools and detailing products!!

You and I are on the same page, Bobby. Detailing for me is more of a hobby, rather than a source of income. I find that detailing relieves stress for me and also helps to keep me from being a permanent couch potato. I also love the look on people's faces when they pick up their vehicles.

Paint correction for me is my favorite part of detailing.

BTW Bobby, what do use on your mirrors? They look great.

I agree!!

Lately I've settled on two products; Meguiar's Ultimate Protectant and Poorboy's World Trim Restorer.

Meguiar's Ultimate Protectant is relatively new and is a water based product thus its application is a little different.

Meguiar's Ultimate Protectant is a whitish creamy liquid and needs to be wiped on and in to the plastic. At first it may not look all that uniform but applying an additional coat really makes a difference. As it sits and dries, especially in the sun, it becomes very uniform leaving a rich black luster.

Poorboy's World Trim Restorer is a great product and I've been using this with great success for quite q while. It's a clear liquid and goes on very nice leaving a rich black shine almost immediately.

What you see on the mirror is Poorboy's World Trim Restorer.

While the Meguiar's product works just as good I just happen to use Poorboy's World Trim Restorer this time.
