What is this??

It kinda looks like a haze... I think it`s clearcoat burn but not sure. I`m just wondering if it will cause problems.

Not totally sure but that looks an awful lot like the start of clear coat failure that my last car began experiencing before I traded it. Started like small white colored bubbles and slowly grew bigger.

what "thing" are we talking about? The haze and clearcoat failure people are indicating is if those are not reflections of clouds. Are those reflections, or are those the problem you are referring to?

Looks like a clearcoat chip, large size. If it is just a chip it won`t continue. If it is truly clearcoat failure it will get worse and lead to a respray as the only fix.

I can`t tell from the picture, but is it a bubble there or gone? Normally if it is a chip the Primer is dark. Can`t tell if the chip has been filled with wax or what.

Well it doesn`t seem to be a bubble. It has no texture either...

It has pretty define borders for it to be clear coat failure. I don`t see the haze in the picture. Are you taking about the dime sized white mark near the edge of the panel?

Just want to say that the spot again has no texture, can`t feel it. It also seems to blend into the car when touched with water. It has been waxed over for sure.

That`s a tough one . If it was a bird poo etching, you could feel it (most likely). At this point I am going to go with clearcoat failure. It will start under the clearcoat and you can`t always feel it. Basically the paint has oxidized under the clear. That my best Colombo guess without seeing it in person. Take it to a body shop for a definitive diagnosis and let us know what they say.

I`m so sorry, I was actually able to feel it after I wash the car today. It kinda feels... low?.. I don`t know how to describe it. It doesn`t really feel rough but you can tell theres something there clearly.

I spoke with a few people, here are the mixed results...
1. It`s a spot that wasn`t cleared correctly so the primer is exposed.
2. It`s oxidation
3. It`s burn through

Does this change what you think at all?

I had something just like that on one of my previous cars. I Forget if I ever figured it out. May have been clear coat damage due to sap or bird droppings. Maybe someone else can chime in. Mine looked identical only my paint was red. Was smooth as the rest of the car, just looked dull in comparison.

It`s *SOME* kind of cc failure...whatever caused it the solution will involve a paintgun. IF you want to fix it, that is....
