Pretty sure it is oxidized. I wouldn`t say "burn through" as in with a buffer. Looks eaten through as in bird poop. If you can feel an indentation I`m 99% sure it`s bird poop or some other caustic substance that caused it. Which might be better than the catastrophic failure that clear coat failure is. Spitting all that out, Accumulator said paint and I agree. A respray is the only real option if you want it to really look nice again.

Hard to pedict, but likely. OTOH, the failed spots on my `93 Audi haven`t spread/gotten worse...but I pamper that car these days.

Hmmm... ok thanks for the thought... I`ve noticed since I`ve had the car (4 months, actually in my name) the spot never grew... is there anything I could do to keep in that way?

Keep it LSPed with something UV-resistant and keep it out of the sun as much as possible.
