I don't even spend $2000 a year on gas, nor on insurance, things that are REQUIRED in order for me to actually drive and own a car. So why would I waste $2000 on a can of wax only to protect something that will only deflate in value over time? Let's face it, by the time your RX8 ever actually increases in value (if ever), you'll probably be dead by then. You're not exactly protecting a priceless collector's item here. In most people's lifetime, they'll never go through $2,000 worth of LSPs. For that kind of money, I'd rather have a variety of products to pick from instead of just one.

For $200 it should absorb bug splatter , $500 - rocks ought to deflect off it and for $1000 or more it better be there when I roll over in the morning then cook me breakfast.
