I've been trying to order a new gallen of FK425 from them, and FK's shipping area has been down for weeks. If I email them, I get no response. Something thas certainly gone wrong.

So what QD can I get that works as well as 425 did? Thanks.

I have quite a few qds and the one that comes closest to FK425 is OID. I'm not saying fk425 is better just that in terms of slickness and gloss OID is the most interchangeable.

If anything, I feel OID has a tad more cleaning power and a bit easier to use. FK425 seems to need a little bit more buffing.

you could call them. i ordered about 1.5 weeks ago with no problems, web ordering was working. anyways OID is pretty close to 425 i also like QS from clearkote.

FK#146......:nervous2:, actually I was impressed with OID, especially mixing it at the strength I need for different applications.

Optimum instant detailer. Buy the 32 oz container and you get a gallon. Buy the gallon and it makes 4 gallons. When you buy it by the gallon, it actually comes out to half the price of FK425 in the long run.

CK Quik Shine is nice but I think 425 and OID are a tad better.

+1.

OID is a bit easier to use, cheaper, and available from more vendors than FK 425. Both are fine products.

I've tried to order from them as well. I was looking foward in trying some of their products. I called and left word twice, e-mailed them twice, but they haven't found the time to fix their website or call me back.

I would either try Optimum instant detailer, or Clearkote's Quik shine. As far as OTC. I've heard Meguiar's ultimate quick detailer was pretty good. I haven't personally used it though. I think I'll try it this week.

I would just go get something over the counter for a few bucks to get you through the 425 withdrawls. Try something different until then without buying a whole gallon or waiting for a week to get it.

Hey guys, newbie here.... I've been reading different posts about QDs and have gotten an impression that the top two "professional" products here are FK425 and OID. Followed by the OTC Meg's Quick Detailer. Would you say that is a fair assessment?

So the question is, does the color of the car make a difference as to which product to use?

I'm trying to figure out what to use for myself. I have a white BMW and have been using Optimum Car Wax after every wash (once the car is dry). I'm thinking if I should continue to use the OCW or switch to using FK425 or OID.

Also, do you apply/spray the car with a QD while it's still wet? Or do you dry it first, then spray the QD? If you spray first, dry second, then what towel do you use? The reason I ask is because I use Waffle Weave Drying Towel to dry after a wash and quality Microfiber Towel to wipe off the OCW. I don't think microfibers are good for drying and I didn't think Waffle Weave Towel is good for wiping off QD. Please set me straight.

Thanks....
