BLACKFIRE Power Stick Wheel Cleaners

This is not the brush I'm referring to but it's very similar but with ALOT more bristles.

I recall a UK chap posted a click and brag with brushes that looked very similar.

The click & brag car did not catch my eye but the brush in his pics did.

Love to have something that works well. I have not seen the EZ Detail brush in person...but I don't think I would put those close to my wheels anyday...

i believe you're referring to these? there was a patent issue, so they were pulled off the market, iirc...

Not to hijak my own thread...and it's gotten 50/50 reviews on here, but I LOVE my black schmitt. I use that to get to the wheelweels. A bit more elbow grease on my end, but the cut of the foam aids nicely. Holds up well for it's use....

i use both size power sticks and the ez-detail brush and a few other tools for wheels. all work very well.

Thomas, as Pat stated, the Powerstick is yes expensive, but a nice worthy tool. If you ever have a need for it, and ya dont have it, you'll know what i mean. The BF version is a Powerstick and nothing beyond that.....

$50 for a wheel cleaning brush is almost the height of stupidity.

As a hobbyist, this is horribly overpriced. Id rather spend $20 on a couple good MF pads and some wheel cleaner and wash the wheels more gently with my own hands.

As a detailer, this is no faster then some of the cheaper, just as effective and gentle wheel brushes. It would also cut into your profits.

I've used the white knight, didn't know it was that expensive. I wasn't impressed then, Im even less impressed now knowing the price.

I can't see the blackfire being any better.

The cloth bristles on the powerstick.....they don't seem to have enough ridgity to clean the inner wheel IMO. I can see it doing spokes and such. Most of the inner wheel crud is generally dried up, etc dirt that needs a little bit of agitation to loosen/clean that up.

Then again, we're working with 20x10.5" wheels

I have alot of wheel brush and the ez brush. The Ez brush is on the soft side. How it the bristle on this brush ???

The Powerstick is very soft. The strands are made of a chamois material. I admit the price tag is kinda of steep but I must say that it has held up very well considering how much I use it. I can't tell you how many times I got sprayed with wheel cleaner in my face from using the Megs wheel brush.

This does save reaching your hands through the spokes and I am happy with my purchase. The price is subjective to how much you want to spend on stuff. Its no different then someone plopping down $$$ for Vintage.

Use what you want, spend it where you want, but the PS pays for itself in short order. Maybe its just not in your economic range of acceptance.........

Get yourself in a boatload of these positions, and you'll see what I mean.......

That thing is a joke in my book............

Amen bros..........

The E-Z brush is actually very soft.

Heh heh, for once you and I can really :argue ;)

Mine aren't even *close* to what I'd consider very soft...tried CD-testing one recently? :grinno:

I go back to my standard comment regarding wheel brushes- unless we're talking beater cars, if I wouldn't use it on the hood of a new black Bentley I won't touch my wheels with it.

AKA Patrick- Chamois-like material huh? I might give that thing a try. On some wheels (e.g., BBS-style ones) it could be just the ticket.

And yeah, prices are a personal, individual consideration; everybody has their own threshold of significance. It's only stupid if you spend money on something, *anything* , you can't (really) afford.

Honestly, I have never used mine. I just went down and felt it again, and it feels soft, what can I say? :nixweiss

I must have missed that comment previously...I think I'd be afraid to wash the hood of a new black Bentley at all...so I think I'm sunk with all my media and methods...:(

I know it isn't a good alternative for customer cars, but on my personal car, I remove the wheels occasionally and just clean the inside and the wheel well with the same things I would use on the outside of the wheel.

Only downside I've found so far is that I'm never satisfied with trying to clean them from the outside because I've seen how clean you can get them by taking them off.
