Website is back up......almost :)

I live 3 miles from the medical center on the Northside. It's very close to all my doctors :xyxthumbs



San Antonio has grown but still retains that small town feel. Major construction of the 410 and I10 freeways though in the last few years to accomodate the growing population.



WE'll have to hook up after you get settled in.

Good site. On thing to note, I use a very popular browser called Firefox. Using it, when I click on a thumbnail photo in your glalary, it shows up a an error, "Bad request". It does NOT do that using Microsoft Internet Exporer, however.



Just wanted you to know.



I build web applications for a living and want my sites to be top notch and I'm sure you do as well. Hope it helps.

Odd thing is I also have firefox and it did at first test fine in firefox but as you noted it now comes up with that error :think: A few other people have said that Firefox can be touchy on some sites in that regard because of all the "add-on extensions" it offers from 3rd parties.



I'll do a bit more research into it and see if I can find what the deal is. Thank you very much for the input and for visiting the site.

you're right...for doing it on your own, it's good. If you think you need more, ask yourself how much of an impact will that extra money or time spent on your web site add to your business' bottom line. In other words, is it worth an extra $1500 if 150 people see your web site and, of those, 7 actually are actually influenced by it to call you.

My site is mainly up for people to go and check out my work. I don't have it up tp attract new clients....more like a guy comes up and wants info on detail work and I explain it to him and then I hand him a card and say....."Please go to my site and view my work then get back with me and we can set up a time to detail yours"



That and many of my clients get a kick out of seeing their cars up on my site.....they then tell their friends :D

You need to do something with that white space over on the right. Also your nav bar has a fairly large picture of a car why do you need another right below? Also are you useing any graphics programs and did you hardcode this all in notepad or use a WYSIWYG?

In regards to the pictures I left both up there cause I am unsure which one I wish to use. The Ferrari picture is also on my card so I figured I would keep that one. if so then that'll replace the one in my nav bar, which one do you like best?



I did this all with Photoshop and a WYSIWYG program. As I noted before my pics worked in Firefox while I was testing it but when I published it they don't work. Any ideas on what might be wrong? I am a noob at this as this is the first time I have built my own pages.

I think that's a wonderful idea about your site. I don't think I've hit a major car care/enthusiast site where the Big O isn't there helping out.

As for advertising.....I really wouldn't consider this advertising as many pros look for insight from others regarding their websites. It would be different if I had come on and said...."Go to my site for detail work" in the regional zone or in the detailing thread.



Instead I placed it here in this section.

No prob Tony. With everyone's life becoming more and more hectic these day's, it's always nice to find someone who can lend time to help out (when they can).



In fact that idea spreads to the whole Autopian community, 'cept Anthony does get around. I've seen Bill D in a couple of spots too.
 
Also ULTIMATE REFLECTIONS right below the banner should be part of the banner. What I would do for a quick and easy website is. Design everything in photoshop and use Image ready to slice it. Also this place is great. I learned to build websites in photoshop, img ready and notepad in high school from here. http://www.webmonkey.com/

Thanks Brad, I'll check it out and see what I can come up with. As I stated earlier I made my first design in Photoshop but it was too graphic so it was slow to up load especially for the 56k users so I had to make it more simple.



I'll keep the initial design layout but tune it up some. Thanks again.

In regards to this whole "advertising" deal.... perhaps we can look at this thread more in the sense of "website tips"?? I am not looking for free advertising but more in the sense of "feedback" as I know there are several website guru types that visit Autopia.

EDIT* - Brad or anyone else....would you do all the text in Photoshop also or would you do it in some other text application and then import/copy/paste into Photoshop? Also, what is a nice page size to use in Photoshop?

If its just normal text and not graphic I would do it all in html. Also what version of photoshop are you using?
