Guess I'll be going to Walmart today. IME, WW MF's are the best for glass cleaning. They're the only ones that don't eventually start to lint. $2.65 for a two pack is the best price I've seen on WW MF's.

They are actually $2.97 for 2 16x24 towels. They are dish towels, so look in the kitchen dept. Mainstays is the brand.

Excellent, Setec, thanks! I would have just gone away empty handed after checking their car washing aisle. Never would have thought to check the kitchen area.

Setec..yup those are the those. I couldn't remember the brand name.

They are in the kitchen aisle with all of the dish towels. I love them. You can't beat them for the price.

What's funny is after you start trying to make a profit and stop buying so many products you realize just how commercialized Detailing can be. That being sad, you have to lose some money to realize that having 100 different products can be substituted for some simple equipment and few chemicals.

Also true for refinishing products (primers and clears). Just gotta spend the money

to find out you don't need to. But, sometimes, it is best to spend the little extra

for a particular task.

Mike it really dosen't matter as long as they are using real citrus in there somewhere. It's the citrus that is the key not the other ingredients. Which is ever cheaper. I know Zep has a decent one at home depot. I get mine from Auto Gem Distributing.

I know stoners has a xenit thats stuff is amazing! I love it. PLus you can order stoners in bulk off there site at almost half store price with free shipping! On the east side of mississsippi <---long word there and i spelled it right!

Got inspired and picked up a gallon of Nature's Orange Cleaner/Degreaser

from OSH. Paid around $9 bucks. Haven't given it a good work out yet but

it smells like oranges!

I personally look for ones with high dilution ratio's... (ie super concentrated) Getting something that can effectively be cut down to 10:1 is great for me. Usually around the $10 give or take and I get 10 gallons out of it. Highly cost effective.

What's recommended as a cost effective pad cleaner? I used Pinnacle XMT pad cleaner when I started, then found out about using Dawn Power Dissolve. That's cheaper, but still not cheap.

I used regular Dawn for years until I started using the Power Dissolver. Seemed to work OK, never had any problems.

Speaking of Zep. It seems they have a line of consumer OTC products exclusive to Home Depot.

Their Leather Cleaner and Treatment (or whatever it's called) seems like *lousy* stuff. I didn't like what it was doing to my pal's old Jag (stripped it off with some difficulty and redid them with Leather Master, much much better).

Interesting thread and I agree that there are some products that are unnecessary or over hyped. For leather, diluted Joy is all you need.

Barry,

I have to ask, what is leather feeding?

Glass cleaner and it's many uses... (at least what I use it for)

Clean Glass

Remove old wax or polish from black trim

Soak Steel Wool and clean all chrome to a sparkling finish

Spot clean headliners

Use foaming glass cleaner and an air compressor to effectively clean vents in under 2 seconds

can clean door jambs

Can be used like Folex if in a pinch

I'm sure I can come up with more but thats really how I use it on an almost daily basis when needed.
