Warning - Detail Supply Outlet in San Diego

For those interested in purchasing detail supplies, I would warn you that this company is in my opinion not reputable. I placed an order for a Hot Rod Carpet Extractor, processed through the credit card company. I received a call from Belina today that they no longer offer that item for sale, and they will not process a refund because it will cost them $8.00 to process it. Rather I have to call my credit card company and contest the charges and go through that crap all because they failed to properly maintain their website and listed a product they no longer sell.

This does not surprise me. I had my first impression of this company today also. I called them and was very un-impressed with there customer service I was calling in regards to pricing and shipping costs on equipment to setup another mobile unit & also I had a few questions bout products and such and I was speaking with a Lady and I asked if they could do better on shipping rates if I order three thousand dollars in equipment and she said Shipping is non negotible it is what it is those were her exact words. In my opinion granit Im only 21 and have only been in business for 2 years I thought that was very unprofessional and made me to believe the economy in California must be better than Illinois. If they would of taken off a 1/3 of the shipping I would of been content. I have been using the same supplier now since i started but im trying to price rpund and was gonna try out sumone new if they could offer me the best rates for the equipment so they lost out on all that equipment purchase and any chemical purchases from there on. Say you paid with debit card would they refund your money than or would you have to go fight with your bank???? What a joke I agree with jtford95 call back get a supervisor and raise hell.

$8? You are kidding me!!! We had a call once about 50 towels shedding lint and we had 50 more out for free the same day as the call- next 50 were just fine. That cost was about $16 in shipping and $35 in net towel cost, but a lifetime customer!

Wow, that is sad, but my friend in San Diego who sells another line, might like that bad news as it will get people to call him- he's fast and no BS.

In regard to shipping, I think it is what it is. I would not expect a customer to ask me to pay their shipping costs. Now, ordering more in bulk does save per unit on shipping, for sure. However, if my mark up is only 10%, and the shipping is $100, I can't pay $25 of that and live. I would offer added value to the order- upgrade, 2 of something you ordered, etc., or just good ol' customer service!

I hear some real customer service issues from other customers that make me think, how can a place even do business this way?

One of our best stories, I guess I'm boasting a bit, was a guy a few years back..he ordered a Cyclo package and clicked, "priority mail". We had it at USPS within 20 min. of his order (USPS is a 5 min. drive). He emailed and said, "Oh no, I meant 'Express' delivery." Now what do I do? I had shipped it too fast!! I called him and was on my way back to the USPS. I knew the guys there and one of them went back and onto the truck- they had loaded my box. We got it off and relabeled and paid and he had it 2 days later or something like that. I LOVE doing that kind of stuff for people and it's how good businesses do business. Incidently, he went on more than one forum and told the story so it ended up good for me as well, but seriously, even as a consumer myself, I see a lack of training of employees on customer service. They expect you to just pay with no respect or gratitude for the sale.

Thanks for sharing that!

I am not expecting them to pay all shipping costs but we all know there is sum room for negotiating. Shipping to Illinois would have been rite at 300 dollars. With a 150 gallon water tank,Pressure washer and heat extractor there is sum room they could of hid 100 dollars to please me for the sale lol I agree lack of training these business's forget that they have several competitors a phone call away. One happy customer tells One person One Unhappy customer tells everyone.

I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience here but Im glad this came up because this is an opportunity to expose this guy. I have had a negative experience with this company as well, but in person. I live in San Diego, and the owner, Eddie, is located is about 15mins from me. He runs three web sites that I know of:

Auto Detailing Products | Car Detailing Equipment | Auto Detailing Supplies

-and-

Auto Detailing Products | Auto Detailing Supplies | Auto Detailing Equipment

-and-

Perfection Car Care Products | Auto Detailing Equipment | Car Detailing Supplies

While in his shop I have heard him on the phone yelling at customers, swearing at them with profanities...as well as swearing at and yelling at his own staff, which consist of two women. He did all of this right in front of me while I was waiting to purchase an item. He actually seemed to have a breakdown while I was there and threw his staff out and then was very rude to me when I was trying to purchase something. I have been to his shop three times and every time he has been rude, arrogant, and not helpful at all. I would advise as well that no one shop with him as I have experienced in person his unprofessional business practices, to put it in plain english the guy is a total A-Hole.
