Volvo: The Mother of all Extremes!

Well this is perhaps the ugliest, nastiest vehicle ever to cross my path!! :scared:

This is an IN-PROGRESS extreme makeover so I only have a few BEFORE pics of the interior. I will tackle the interior first, remove all seats and also the center console. This will ease the cleaning process.

I have the car for the next 5 days so I'll see what can be done. The exterior is hammered, we'll need to remove dents and perhaps wetsand the paint as some areas are re-painted.

Now for the few interior pics i have so far, I will try and update this thread as I go along with as much indepth info as I can about my process.

In all seriousness, I wish you luck. Trashed interiors can be such a crap shoot. Definitely in for the afters. :)

Bah! That's nothing compared to my day yesterday.... Let me just say this about the '02 Buick LeSabre I did:

Dog + Incontenence problems + Frequent rides in the car = :soscared:

I just wish I hadn't forgotten to grab my camera when I went to work on it. The interior alone took 6 hours with two detailers working (I was helping out at another shop, too short of staff to handle this kind of work).

Quite a contrast to the '06 Pontiac G6 I detailed after that -- which had 74 miles on it! :woot2:

So, Anthony, :bestwish

LOL ... hey thanks guys ..... Wait till ya'll see the exterior!

As for amount? Well that isn't determined just yet as I told him I would do a little here and there as my schedule allowed, but ballpark will put it in the $500 range.

I'll keep ya'll posted on my progress.

wow ! that is extreme.. I did a toyota sienna last year and thought that was bad.. took me 5 hours just interior alone.. good price for that job Anth.. good luck .. hope you're wearning gloves when going into that ?

I have 5 teenagers with 4 of them being girls.....each of which thinks the local car wash is a social event rather than a swirl festival. The interior, according to the girls, is simply the space you use to keep from littering the trash cans with all the fast food leftovers not to mention all the make-up and lipsticks that seem to melt very easily in the hot Texas sun/heat.

Suffice it to say that my son is very quickly learning the ins and outs to detailing as well as learning first hand on how to be an invaluable assistant.

Now for the girls, any advice greatly appreciated!!!!!

Bah, you people really ARE lightweights. You don't want to see the ones that I keep off the site for your well being.

:nixweiss wouldn't know without seeing them......

I've seen some gross/nasty things in my time; there isn't much that will phase me anymore.

Ughh...today I did a Dr's Suburban with a foul stench. I followed my nose to a toddlers sipper cup laying down in the pouch behind the drivers seat.

It was filled with milk! I then opened it up to pour it out....it didn't pour out though, rather it slowly slid out in one large cottage cheese clump!! :shocked I just about hurled.

Man it sends shivers up my spine just retelling it :nervous2:

Are those eggs on the floor?

I think she regularly spills coffee. The change in the cup holder was in a solid clump. When I hosed out the floor mats, brown water flowed out of them for at least 5 minutes each. Everything in the whole van was sticky.

About 6 months later, I saw it up at her boyfriend's office (I regularly detail his vehicles) and not only had she smacked a pole with it, denting the passenger front fender, but it appeared to have at least a foot deep of trash inside. The boyfriend assured me he would never expect me to clean it again.

Whew! :bigups

Anthony-try sniffing out the vomit stench in a Suburban...rear pocket behind the passenger front seat-and they needed a new Mapsco too!

I'm in for the ride :scared: Please post all the information that you can about your tools and technique.

Steve, post those pictures. Inquiring minds want to know.

I've had to remove the back seat on a few occasions, makes getting four dogs worth of dog hair out of the crevises a little easier. Take lots of pics.
