Ultimate Quik Wax: Sealant?

Meg's UQW is amazing

but as Lumadar said, i think its more of a booster wax but if anything, i'd say its more on the sealant side than the traditional wax side.

i put two coats on my car and its going to rain tomorrow, i cant wait to see them beads

=D

Could I use this over KSG that was applied back in December?

Yes, sure won't harm a thing. The point of explaining it is a booster wax is that Meguiar's isn't trying to convince people that a spray wax that can be applied to an entire car in 5-10 minutes is going to give as long lasting of results as a true liquid or paste wax with proper dry time, and 30-60 minute application times.

If you wash your car once a week, or every 2 weeks, UQW is a fantastic way to maintain a protected and glossy finish for a couple months between full clay and wax jobs.

It can handle both methods, but Megs recommends maximum durability when allowed to haze first. Apparently, it does it very fast.

Is UQW a wipe on and off or a wipe on and let it haze and then wipe it off product?

if you spray a panel and spread it around thoroughly, it will flash quickly. i consider it more like a wowo product than a haze and wipe off one...

Mike P suggests several minutes to haze. It's not a true WOWO product. If you want that kind of spray wax then try the three Mothers spray waxes. They're all WOWO waxes. Very nice too.

Well Meguiar's advertises it as a WOWO--as far as I can tell, Mike Phillips is the only one really advocating the option to let it haze (yes, I know Mike technically represents Meguiar's). I respect the hell out of Mike and realize that he knows more about UQW than most people, but I tried his method (foam applicator/haze/wipe off) and I don't think it works any better than just wiping it on and off.

A quick note: the best method I've found is to apply UQW with a damp microfiber towel, and then wipe it off with a dry one. I think Mike also advocates this method as an alternative to the foam applicator.

So, I am assuming that means most or all factory coats as well??

How does it compare to Duragloss Aqua Wax in terms of ease of use, looks, durability, application method? I use Duragloss Aqua Wax and it's amazing in all those areas.

I have stuck with AW since it does what I want it too.

I have not tried UQW yet , but sure hope it's not like UQD...... what a disappointment IMO.

Following the instructions on the bottle, it sounds like the product is a wowo. The product does haze almost within seconds. I've tried it both ways and will continue to use it like a wowo. I did apply over 2 coats of NXT 2.0 and it was still beading and felt slick 6 weeks after application. I should point out that the car was kept in SW, Florida and garaged nights. The product doesn't attract dust. In fact it doesn't leave any dust when applying and removing either. It works really well on plastic and vinyl trim including textured plastic. I prefer the look over other dedicated trim protectant. It seems to repel water on the paint like RainX does for glass. I really like this maintenance product.
