Today's Detail v.Pink Wax update, Menzerna PO85RD, FMJ

tdekany: Thanks Thomas. Maybe I will try and put a couple of layers on, then top with Pink wax!:D

Ed Hartman: Ed, that truly is an understatement. I held off on trying it because of the price, and I'm sorry I did. Once CMA has the quarts in stock for $49.95, I might pick up a couple. This is truly a great product, and now my favorite sealant.

6']['9: No, it didn't have any maroonish look, or paint color to it. I was very happy to see it was a CC paint job!

vdog0531: You should be excited to try the Pink Wax, I have a feeling you will like it. Just out of curiosity, where did you get a sample? Thanks for the nice words. :D

that accord looks great man!

FMJ is awsome stuff, makes me want to go out and detail my car.

L33 Thanks.:D Your BMW is a big reason I tried the FMJ after prolonging it for so long. My mom has a 2005 Mustang GT (Black) and I was very impressed with your car! And with the new price of FMJ that CMA is coming out with, it will be a good deal from now on! I thank you L33 for posting pics, it was what put me over the edge to try the FMJ, and I don't see myself going back any time soon!

I know there is a name for Zaino people, are there any names for Menzerna people, because they seem to be the only company I use for paint polish and protection. Any ideas?:D

My favorites:

--PO85RD

--Micropolish

--PO106

--FMJ

O4cobra: Great looking job.

BTW: GR-40 is a trim cleaner that is available from Top Of The Line. Use it for cleaning up wax stains/residue that's on the trim. I don't think it is for protecting the trim, but I have only seen it on TOL I have not used it.

I wonder if the version of Menzerna PO85RD is the same as the European version I got from jgv? It was a final polish and had a real clear and wet look and EX-P looks amazing over top it.

Nice job on the Accord. Makes me miss mine...well, mine with the H22 swap that is! The person who bought mine doesn't seem to bother to keep it looking good, plus he parks it under trees all the time. Every time I see it, either at my complex or out on the road, it is dirty. Drives me nuts! I guess I will have to live vicariously through your Aunt's Accord!

Let us know how FMJ holds up for you. I've heard both good and bad, so I am not sure what to think...although that seems true of almost every product out there!

Nice to seem Pink Wax is holding up too both beading and appearance. I've got 3 layers on my car, mostly because I want a lot of wax on it through the rest of winter so I don't have to mess with my own car other than washing and QD.

i did a little trading with a fellow membor. i had just gotten some sixteen, and he had just gotten some pink wax and we both wanted both. so there we go;)

Scott: Thanks, I will do my best to keep you proud. ;) It sounds like this might be similiar to the version you got. It is a VERY CLEAR, deep, wet look. If the PO85RD gave any protection, I would have left it at that. I was pleasantly surprised at how the FMJ brightened the paint, but yet was so deep the paint looked like a candy apple red. If I had to compare it to another sealant, it's like WG but cranked up a couple of notches. FMJ seems to be very easy to use in cold temps, no prob removing. I will let you know how the FMJ holds up. I think I'm going to go back next week and put another layer on and leave it. I thought about putting Pink Wax on after the next coat of FMJ, but I am curious of the durability as well with FMJ. And if the FMJ has good durability, just another great feature of this sealant. Sorry to hear about your Accord, it's so hard to see a car that you loved being neglected like that!

vdog0531 Nice. You should be very happy with the Pink Wax. Forgive me for not knowing what kind of car, and color of car you have. What will you be trying it out on? Make sure you post pics, I'm curious to hear other peoples opinions on PInk Wax. How's UT these days, I have a buddy that lives in Layton?:D

Im at the 2 month mark of FMJ on my 1994 Accord. Still beading. And I had some serious salt on this car for sometime from all the snow. (I love my Accord, 114,000, 11 years old still going strong)

I would highly recommend it. I went in half on a bottle with another member on here, and I am more than happy. The PO85RD is incredible, and the FMJ is just perfect!:D

I haven't found an online source to purchase PO85RD. Any links to a website(s) offering it for sale?

Pat: Thanks:D

Hi Caraman,

You can only get PO85RD from Menzerna USA, or CMA. (Properautocare.com) The PO85RD and PO106 are from the Menzerna Ceramiclear line of polishes. Nobody carries it because there isn't a high demand for them, but there should be!:D The PO85RD is $34.95 for 32oz. If you order from Menzerna direct, you have to make a $50 minimum order + shipping. If you order from CMA is $44.95 + shipping, no minimum order. So pick which you want! Just contact one or both of the emails at the bottom and let them know what you are interested in! Anymore Q's, shoot me a PM or just ask me on here!!!

That's good to hear ED. I hope this stuff has exceptable durability, then this will be my go to sealant. That's all this stuff needs is some durability to make it PERFECT (IMO). L33 tells me that he has been getting good durability out of it, and he has a beading pic in his gallery at 3 months. Do you have any pics ED?:D And by the way, the 94 is the body style after the one I did correct? If so, that is my favorite body style of any of the Accords, past or present!

i haven't tried their detailing spray, but have had some very good results with 1z lackfinish & perls.

Now I remember the car. You were the guy with the "Autopian" parking spot, where you could almost park sideways in it, right?

04cobra, did you spritz the pad with any qd or water before using the P085RD? If so, I have final inspection or eagle wipe n shine, would either of those be okay? Also how long did you work it in? Until it-

Hey grt1today,

I give any applicator a quick spritz of Adam's Detail Spray before applying. I gave the pad one spritz before applying the PO85RD, and I only do it once, before I start the whole thing. I don't spritz during at all, just before starting. As far as using what you have, I would use the final inspection, don't really know about the EO product you are talking about. I work the product until just before it starts to dry/disappear. Becuase I hear from some people that you want to work Menzerna until just before it starts to dry, and wipe it off wet. And I just wipe with a clean/dry Adam's MF towel, I don't spray water on the surface before I remove like some people. Can really give a time estimate, but that's the best I can do!!

What exactly is PO85RD and PO106 from the Menzerna line. I have the older Final Polish and Intensive Polish.

Do you have a link to these products on CMA's website or anywhere else?

How abrasive are they?

Nice work on the Accord. Awesome results from the 2 Menzerna products!

Thanks
