The "new" thing???

The Rainmaker
Earlier this week I saw a clean compact car, didn't notice what variety, but what I did notice was the wheels.
They appeared to be OEM steel wheels with no wheel covers, but with chrome lug nuts, painted center hubs on the car itself and the black painted wheels were polished to a very high shine. The tires were also dressed to a little more shine than I like, but that's just me. Overall, a decent look for very little money.
I happen to like polished chrome or aluminum wheels, but for someone that can't afford fancy wheels, this looked like an alternative.
Is this something new that I just haven't noticed or was it a one time thing by just that individual?

I did a Porsche not long back and the spare tire a small temp one was painted to a very high gloss...I had to guess that it was clear coated....I would imagine that if you painted any rims to get a good base on them, that you could polish them out to a high gloss, or even use a clear coat....one last thing the car that you viewed could of had a silicon spray on them, like Stoners Trim Shine...from distance it would make even older painted rims looks shiny...don't ask me how I know this:D

any idea what kind of car it was Charles?
If I remember right, didn't Sean have black wheels on his Integra?

I don't remember anything about Sean's car, but I have seen quite a few custom wheels with black centers.
These were just plain old steel wheels that are usually hiding behind some wheel covers. Kind of like the one I had on the Montana only I did cover mine with wheel covers. :)
FWIW, I did finally put some different wheels on the Montana.

Doesn't have much to do with the thread, but I don't think I ever mentioned them before.

very nice Charles, but you do have to do something with those wheel wells :lol2:

Where's the 22's? I would have thought you'd be rollin' the dubs.

Don't ask me, because I literally have no idea what I just said. :)
