Thats it i have had it with Zanio!!!!!!

I wasn't being defensive over anything, I have zero allegiance to any product, this just seems to be a developing trend on a few forums I frequent. First time posters not even introducing themselves damn near and complaining about certain products. Doesn't matter which ones, just seems fishy due to the coincidence of other posts on other sites I have seen lately.

People also register and post super positive posts about products too, although they are usually stuff most of us have never heard of.

Those are a little more aggressively questioned, as you say, they are normally off the wall products. Saying anything negative about a product beit packaging, costumer service, the product itself is still negative pub, I have seen a lot of this lately on other forums as well, not just pertaining to zaino, only reason it raised a red flag in my book.

I have been on the site for about 2 years and never need to post but after the last problem i was seeking advice more on what else can i use other than Zanio.

Like i stated i think the product is fantasic but just not willing to pay the sort of money for a product i only get to use once before it dries up.

As for contacting Sal i did when i had the issue with the clay and notheing came of it so i cant be bothered again,so time to look for a new product.

I have been trying to hold off on purchasing ZFX as long as possible (if anyone has a bottle of Z1 left, PM me please) and now reading about members having issues on it drying up after a few weeks REALLY turns me off on it...

That's only a very small number of people. If you are careful and replace the cap promptly and tightly, you should not have an issue. I'm sure that most cases of ZFX drying or gelling are do to over expsoure to the air that is the users fault.

If you want to switch, I'd suggest trying JW or if you want to go with a wax that will stand up to harsh condition, go with some Collinite.

I've had my bottle of ZFX for a year and it is completely fine, same with my Z clay bars and everything else. They all simply sit on a shelfing unit in a big closet with all of my other detailing supplies.

I think there are a few people who have agendas they aggressively push, either negatively or positively towards detailing products. Usually is easy to spot, sometimes it is more subtle. Nature of the internet, I guess. :nixweiss

Just get ZAIO and don't worry about applying more than one layer of Z5 or Z2 at a time. Problem solved.

I should check out JW sometime soon for our minivan. I looked at it long and hard before trying the Ultima PGP. Now however I am hooked on the PGP for the Lexus and for the first time in a long time have no desire to try other products.

I almost always experiment on our minivan before adopting a product(s).

How is the JW durability?

I had a bad Zaino clay bar once, really hard and plastic like. Couldn't mold it at all so I contacted Zaino and was basically told too bad, all I asked for was a replacement but they said no. I have used Zaino since 2000 but I do not buy from them exclusively anymore but I do still use thier products because I like them that much. It's understandable but a bit disappointing that their customer service would take a dive when they continued to grow.

Buy some ZAIO and forego ZFX all together.

+2.

FWIW, the bottling/sprayers is the least attractive aspect of Zaino to me. I'm sort of a newbie Zaino guy, trying out the line and all, and my first impressions of the sprayers is bad.

I wouldn't rule out using it just because of a freak accident with a bottle. Stuff happens sometimes. I concur with others when they say call the owner and let him know the problem.

I try to use all my ZFX before it dries up...

but since I have Zaio, I only do a layer of Z-5pro and I'm usually done.

He doesn't really seem to be bashing the product itself as much as the containers they come in.

That was an issue with Clearkote products a few years back, the containers were unusually fragile. The posts about it here got Clearkote's attention though and the problem was quickly taken care of.

Several months of durability. Prime + 1 layer of Acrylic Jett beaded as long on my brother's van (which is tunnel washed 2-3 times a month) as Klasse AIO + 3 ZFX'ed layers of Z2 Pro...8 full months!

Right now, 4 months into it with Opti-Seal on most of the van and OS on one side of the hood and UPGP on the other side, so far so good. :)

yes i think it's heat and humidity, that's why refrigerator storage works well

I keep my ZFX in the house and after detailing 55-60 cars this year with zaino (Z2/5pro with ZFX) The vial of ZFX is just about gone and I bought it in Nov of 2006. I did not have a problem with it going bad. About 2-3 yrs ago I had some ZFX go bad, one call to Sal and he replaced it without any problems.

I think the oldest clay I have around is approx 18 months old, some used blue clay magic and some of the yellow zaino clay (used too.) Both are still fine.

Earlier this year I finally threw out some very old Z5 that I got from someone else. From what the guy who gave it to me said, I think it was about 4 yrs old. The bottle was still fine.
