Terrible 2003 Black Passat rejuvenated.

Well, this one comes to me from the same owners of the MDX I did about a month ago. I had seen the car around, and knew what I was going up against. It looked as it it hadn't been washed in a month, and the rims were so bad, they were tinted almost yellow. The owner didnt want a complete and total correction, so I opted for PoliSeal mixed with 30% Opt Polish. This took out alot f swirls, and really gave life back to the paint. It also gave me a chance to try out my newly aquired #16!

So, heres my process:

Wash/Clay:

-EO Soap mixed with 30% Purple Power in the foam gun, then KIT with a sheepskin.

-Clayed with Zaino, using ONR as lube.

Wheels/Wells/Tires:

-Cleaned wheels with Wheel Brightener 2.5:1 using various brushes

-Tires cleaned with HiTemp Tire Cleaner 1:1, Wells with Purple Power 1:1

-pH neutralized rims with EO Bucketless

-Poorboys Wheel Sealant on rims

-Tires with Meguiars High Endurance, wells with HD 3:1

Paint:

-Polished with PS/OP Mix on the Metabo with an Edge Green at 1600-1800 RPMS

-#34 Wipedown

-Thin coat of #16, (This stuff is awsome!)

Interior:

-Total all surface clean with Meguairs APC 10:1

-Carpets with OxiClean and APC

-Hot Water Extract

-Seats with Blue Coral (My favorite cloth seat product)

-DP Total Interior Protectant

-DG FC&S on windows

Awesome recovery!! FWIW, all the Passats in my area look like the BEFORE. I've never seen one that looked like the AFTER :(

Looks nice. Gotta love black paint.

I'm confused by their license plate. Are they claiming to only have 75 horsepower in some secret code? lol

Looks terrific, really nice deep, wet glow. :)

Got to agree about #16. Just something about the soft depth it gives that makes me

Good job. it does look a lot better although some sunlight/halogen shots on the paint would be nice to show off your buffing work :) I gotta ask tho - oxyclean and apc on the carpets??

excellent job! you did a great job on that one.

How has your Metabo been working lately?

Just fine thanks, your tips helped a bunch! We should get together sometime since you're not too far away.

APC as the spot treat, then Oxy to shampoo. Its my bulletproof method.

I am glad my tips helped! Yes maybe we can meet up sometime and I can show you a couple of things. It looks like you are doing very good though.

From a Passat owner - the car looks great! Can I ask what you used to clean and dress the lower plastic cladding?

Thanks tomcat,

I cleaned the lower cladding with Top Of the Line Tire Cleaner diluted 1:1. The gunk that came off it was a dark brown mess. I dressed it with Meguiar's Hyperdressing diluted 2.5:1. Hope this helps! :)
