tell me why I should not get nxt 2.0

Most of the products I have are meguiar's (m83,m80, nxt, yellow hi-tech 26). I said when I run out of the yellow wax I would order something good online. With all the talk about zaino I started looking at that. I thought I had decided on z-2 pro because of the good reviews (good durability too). Then I read it is not to be used over a something like m80. :nixweiss

I want to order one product. Either a sealant or wax. I started searching but get frustrated with all the results.:hairpull

Can somebody point me in a good direction?

Klasse Sealant Glaze?? collinite 476S looks good too.

i use Megs 21, 2.0 for my customers that just want that "wash-wax" since it's cheap, user friendly and lasts about 2-3 months. IMHO - NXT is a notch below it and actually costs more.

Thats what I believe too, but I am so confused with all the products out there. :hairpull

Zaino can be used over nearly anything as long as you properly prep the surface before application. If your paint is already in good shape and you have zfx, I would just wash with a strong shampoo( Zaino recommends Dawn blue, I however prefer CG CWC or a P21s TAW type product) and apply away with the z2. If you dont have zfx, best case would be to wash as above, prep with ZAIO then apply z2. Finally, I have read where some here on autopia have used z2 without zfx, without zaio and have gotten excellent results with the only prep being a wash, (again with a Dawn or other strong wax stripper type product) HTH

NXT 2.0 and M21 2.0 only differ in that M21 2.0 can handle rotary application heat, where as NXT 2.0 can't. They should perform the same otherwise.

NXT 2.0/M21 2.0 are my most used LSPs because it's very easy to work with, looks great, leaves a notably slick surface (customers always comment on that), and it sheets water away effectively.

Cost effective, quick and easy to use, and gives good results...hmmm, tough call lol.

Lumadar - I know you know more about Megs than most folks here, but - in my experiences, M21 was little better. Now, whether I replace it after the bottle runs dry, I don't know. I just may go back to DG 105 or try that new Optima stuff.

I was wanting to try something other than meguiar's. The yellow m26 is nice , but I wanted to try something new. My main concerns are being able to use it over m80, durability and a nice shine.

I agree. I use it for the same purpose.

Any nuba would be fine.

So is it sealants I am not supposed to use over m80?

sorry if I am coming off as a noob. I am.

ClearKote Carnauba Moose Wax looks good now. I will read up on it.

Face the fact Meguiar's is the No. 1 seller of OTC car detailing supplies for a reason. Not saying it is the best but ..........

I've applied both by machine and found both to last just as long as the other and work just as easy as the other, IMO they are the same......

Nxt pros/cons

Pros:

-easy on/ easy off

-ive worked with it in the sun w/ no problem

-darkens paint noticeably

-fills slightly

-easily found otc

Cons:

-looks fall off within a week or two w/o help from the rain

-durability is not all that great

-slickness is decent, nothing outstanding

-overpriced

Now you have the pros and cons. You can decide. I would go with something else personally. The price isn't justified by the performance. Its decent at best

Its been quite some time since I last used it but I don't remember it staining my trim. The few times I got a little on my trim from going too fast it wiped away easily. I never actually let it sit for probably more than a minute so maybe that's why

I learned a few years back (from the Sal himself), if you just wipe the car down with Z6 after using any non-zaino polish, you won't have any bonding issues. Z6 will eliminate any oils left behind by M80 and you can use any Zaino "polish" after that.

I guess you could say M21 is pricey, but only if you compare it to most OTC waxes. It compares very favorably when compared to other specialty sealants like Blackfire, UPP, Wolfgang 3.0 and even Zaino (Not that I'm saying it's better). Factor in the 64 oz. container costing only $40

(which I just received today from ADS!:woohoo:) and you have a great bargain.

M21 is more expensive than NXT, so there has to be a difference:think2

Going by that analogy, would you say P21S and S100 are different also? (Seriously, Wannafbody, what is your opinion? I have S100, but not P21S)

According to Meguiar's, it is different: you can use M21 with a rotary. You're not supposed to use NXT with a rotary. As far as looks & durability goes, I don't know. I haven't tried either yet.
